🎇 Happy US publication day to A FABULOUS DEBT! 🎇 The working title of the book was The Greatest Show on Earth: An Affectionate Biography of the Bond Market, which probably sums up my feelings about the subject.

We are DEFINITELY doing the Nangle Angle.

If Alphaville did video, I hope that they would be as good as Dan Toomey's stuff. Here he looks at the bond market, feat. me and @robinwigglesworth.ft.com youtu.be/UoT5OzspMo8?...

Second (and final) part of my conversation with @robinwigglesworth.ft.com about money and the French Revolution is now available! Includes his bemusement at the term "king napping," a chance for me to say "a republic has NO KINGS," and eventually a guy from Corsica www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3BR...

Fwiw this includes me (a British citizen but born abroad), my Norwegian midwife partner, and two of my three children. Nice to know that The Times thinks we are undesirable but has watched “helplessly” as we lived in London.

The French revolution was a bloody fight for liberty, equality and fraternity. But it was also a battle over money. 💸 In part deux, The Story of Money tackles the financial transformation of France as it descended into war, political turmoil and the Reign of Terror. youtu.be/S3BRFhpb0Ok?...

My work here is done. (seriously though, if you’ve read and liked then please rate and even leave a review on Goodreads, Amazon, Waterstones, B&N etc, it is incredibly helpful for the book, and wildly gratifying for me to read on a purely personal level).

Btw a reminder that I’ll be signing copies of A Fabulous Debt — which Daunt named as one of its books of the week — at Daunt’s London Marylebone branch at 3pm this coming Friday. Hope to see at least somebody there!

Went on the Morning Brew Daily to explain bonds and why they’re a lot more important than trading Pokemon cards (ie stocks to the rest of you). youtu.be/vuDPtFkt4XM
