Back in Paris this weekend and it’s pure Maidan vibes. The overwhelming smell of burnt cars and scooters (turns out they make great barricades). Looted supermarkets, jewellery shops & pharmacies. Real mayhem on the edges of a mostly peaceful protest against the collapse of France’s education system.

Students in France are protesting horrible school conditions, including rats in classrooms and far too many students-per-teacher ratios. I don't blame them for saying their schools should be at least clean and safe, place for learning, not pest control.
