i'm sorry but if you're calling it a "launch trailer" it can't be over a month to go until the game comes out. i'm already irritated when people do that the day before, much less a week, MUCH less THIS. a launch trailer is for the LAUNCH, what are we doing with our words

tentatively very excited for gerwig's narnia. only narnia people talk about is the original trilogy but the best narnia books are nephew, horse, and silver chair and so help me god if we get a trilogy of those three i'll be over the moon. trailer is weird but barbie was good enough to give me hope

nephew is basically two kids showing up to fucking carcosa for the first half. lewis had a real mean cosmic horror streak running through a lot of the less discussed books. the desolation of charn makes it an incredible, terrifying book to read as a kid and i like it much more than tltwatw

now it might just be because i'm playing on Nightmare but Silver Pines' first boss is one of the funniest and longest and easiest fights in any recent game i can think of. the combat is extremely terrible (complimentary/hilarious)

the issue with letterboxd is i don't really watch that many bad movies because i don't have that much time and my gut judgement of whether or not to see a film has served me well over the years. what this means is almost all my reviews are too high. curve is overinflated because i'm smart and cool

if i think about this too hard it's going to make me chase more bad movies. i can't decide if this is a good thing for me or not. i used to be willing to watch way more bad movies (esp in college) but that was before i had deadlines. now i play bad games instead, because i'm a time genius

lady in front of me on the plane was watching avatar, which is already funny to contemplate as that's a movie defined by its presentational technicianship more than anything else, but she then got to the scene where jake sully gets permanently bodyswapped over and she shook her head and cut it there

it's obvious a huge part of the film not hitting is in huge part due to the marketing, even if O Green World is the perfect song to pair with the movie thematically. i can't help as a trailer guy but think "how the hell DO you make this into a trailer?" because so much of the film is uncondensable

also this and primetime are fucking BATTLING for film score of the year. and that's in a year where we got what we got with the odyssey. some incredible music at the movies lately
