#NowWatching The Residents Secret Show Live In San Francisco. Recorded in 2023 as part of the 50th Anniversary tour. I saw them at Gorilla in Manchester in 2019, as part of the 50th Anniversary tour... Also saw them at The Haçienda in Manchester in 1986, on the 13th Anniversary tour...do the math...

Just spoiled some soup by tipping too many chilli flakes into it #StormBoelo

#Nowplaying Pungent Effulgent by Ozric Tentacles. Dissolution (The Clouds Disperse) is as exciting an opening track could ever be.

Orpheus, eh? What a pillock.

Current rain map of t'nooorth

#NowPlaying Inner Marshland by The Bevis Frond. I have huge gaps in my Bevis collection, but this and New River Head are ace.

I see the James Bond casting is nearing its conclusion. I wish they wouldn't bother, Bond always existed for Her Majesty and now she's dead, he's not required.

#NowPlaying The Fall Of The House Of Usher by Peter Hammill and Judge Smith. This is the original version (still not heard the remake), it's jolly good fun.

Blast from the past rediscovered, it's Original by Leftfield with Toni Halliday.

Sneaky bit of rain this morning.

#MyNineFriedEggsAndBroccoli

Who remembers the days on Twitter when the Celtic Frost bot would reply 'ugh'?

I bought the 2LP in Gloucester in 1984 on that record-buying holiday to Somerset with Steve 'synthesizer' Davis and Paul 'one of the soldiers in Alan Parker's 'Pink Floyd The Wall' can't recall his surname'. But the 2CD is better.

Just before Cardiacs' final gig in 2007, I stood out the front of The Chemic, tabbing away with Tim Smith. We didn't exchange words, because I was so in awe, I couldn't find anything to say. But it was a fantastic gig they played, and I'm so honoured I was there to experience it.

J G Ballard - The Secret History Of World War 3.

#NowPlaying Lightwork by Devin Townsend. I love his ambition.

#NowPlaying Zühn Ẁöhl Ünsaï by Magma, a live 2CD of a 1974 Radio Bremen concert. Stonking!

My steel coffee press has collapsed. Ten years it lasted.

#NowPlaying You Are What You Is by Frank Zappa. I bought the 2LP for £4.99 from HMV in Bradfotd after school on my 17th birthday.

#NowPlaying Tarot by Walter Wegmüller, probably the best of the Cosmic Courier releases. It's freaky and mind blasting.

#NowPlaying William D Drake's beautifully crafted new album, Moulded By Industry. Really enjoying this.

I asked AI to depict 9 prog rock album covers in a 3 x 3 grid. Here's the result:

A rarity from King Crimson youtu.be/NsijlODuzwo?...

#NowPlaying Austin 1973 by Frank Zappa. A great quality radio broadcast of a gig to promote Over-Nite Sensation, which features not a single song from that album.

Just remembered the new William D Drake album is on its way

#NowPlaying massive attack v mad Professor. Super blast from the past, this.

#NowPlaying Main Street by Roy Wood and Wizzard. The long lost third album from 1976 which appeared 24 years later.

Sad to see that Eva Marie Saint died yesterday, but she certainly had a good innings.

#NowPlaying Red Queen to Gryphon Three by Gryphon. An album that is always rockier than I'm expecting.

#NowPlaying Chill Out by The KLF.

Congrats to Elfyn Evans and Scott Martin, World Rally Champions 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

#NowPlaying She Hangs Brightly by Mazzy Star. Rather fond of Hope Sandoval's voice...
