Is there a Mercy Rule for baseball seasons? Asking for a friend …. #MetsSky

The Mets have decided to win again and Mrs. Met is being inducted into the Mascot Hall of Fame (I was today years old when I learned that was a thing). The gods are smiling upon us at last! #MetsSky

OUCH. But, as the kids say, "Where's the lie?" #MetsSky www.wsj.com/sports/baseb...

At least our Rookie League Mets team is doing great! Oh, wait .... www.milb.com/gameday/fcl-... #MetsSky

We've seen it, so we know, but ... ouch. "Fading Veterans" = Peralta www.nytimes.com/athletic/745... #MetsSky

Even a broken clock, etc. #MetsSky

If you are anywhere in the stands at Citi (or even in the parking lot) and you can pitch, report for duty ASAP. Please and thank you. #MetsSky

Prayers up for Amber! #MilanoCortina2026

I hope all this “Blade Angels” nonsense doesn’t bite them in their … “wings”. We’ve seen how the hype machine can overwhelm. I just want clean skates for them. #MilanoCortino2026

Let’s move the team competition to the end! The skaters who did two performances in the team competition have been cursed (or gassed, or both). But, Lara, you are beautiful and I love your skating. #MilanoCortina2026

I’m glad Vera Wang is in the audience. Maybe she can help this lady. What is that green glitter on this red costume? Yikes. A strong skater who deserves better packaging. #MilanoCortina2026

Loena Hendrickx, you are stunning and that short program was beautiful. #MilanoCortina2026

Thank God for Piper & Paul winning the bronze and ZingNik earning a T5 finish, because, otherwise, Ice Dance you bummed me out today. #MilanoCortina2026 #milanocortina2026

Ok, C/B did all they could there. They can hold their heads up high no matter what. #MilanoCortina2026

YES! Piper and Paul! So gorgeous. I’m so happy for them!! #MilanoCortina2026

If this F/G performance scores above ZingNik, I’m gonna be really mad. #MilanoCortina2026

#MetsSky: Today, I walked into the Cornell Club and who was sitting in the lobby? Keith Hernandez. I was too starstruck to say anything. No idea why he was there but now I wish I’d said, “I love you in the booth as much as I loved you on the field!” Missed opportunity. Sigh. #Mets

Yassss! Come through, 2026!

This just in: the Binghamton Rumble Ponies will be playing their upcoming season in Queens.

This story has redeemed a dreary day for me. Could not love it more.

Nolan McLean:

Our AA Binghamton Rumble Ponies still in first place. Gotta take our comfort where we can find it, #Mets fans!

5th is the New 4th. :-( #Mets

Mr. Rogers cones through for us! #LGM #Mets

Oh, my fellow #Mets fans, this isn’t even close to The Worst. I, for one, remember the Inglorious Days of the 1993 Season, when we went 59-103 and finished … 38 games out of first place. Good times.

My fellow #Mets fans, I know we are saddened by the compete implosion of our team and our hopes for them. But on a much brighter note, I bring you glad tidings from Central NY, where our AAA #syracusemets team is tied for the division lead. Hope Springs Eternal! #MetsSky

Did I weep actual tears over Jeff Hiller’s Emmy nomination? YES. Yes, I did. I love this so much for him, and for the show.

#Mets

Welp. I am looking forward to having amnesia regarding tonight’s pitching performance by the Mets.

For those of you who are too young to have experienced what it was like to be a Mets fan in the ‘90s, you are officially all caught up now.

I’m afraid I jinxed our Dicky Lovelady with my enthusiastic response to his first inning of work. Sorry, fellow Mets Fans!

Wasn’t watching where I was going and crashed into Stanley Tucci on Madison Avenue. He was carrying high-end shopping bags in both hands (very “Devil Wears Prada”). I was mortified.

ESPN reporting that MLB suspended Phillies reliever Jose Alvarado for violation of drug policy. Out for 80 games and ineligible for post-season. This is 2nd drug suspension in NL East (after Braves’ Jurickson Profar). I really hope our Mets are playing clean.

On vacation in Florida and saw “Anora” today. As I’m sobbing at the final scene, the guy next to me loudly says, “That sucked!” The women next to him reply, “Yeah, I kept waiting for something to happen and nothing did.” OPEN. THE. SCHOOLS!!!

2024 was certainly… a lot. Here’s a prompt designed to enter 2025 on a more positive note: what’s something that your Younger Self would appreciate/celebrate about your Current Self?

In a trying year, these books were a balm for the mind, heart and soul. Favorite Reads of 2024:
