Not exaggerating, and if anyone doesn't understand, they have enough money to not need to be online all the time. It is distinctly classist. We had a commons, and they are harvesting it and destroying it to drown us out with a gross parody of ourselves. Its like some kind of cybernetic imperialism

And to add onto my initial post (because I forgot) Using AI AT ANY POINT in the artistic process fucks any kind of learning you could've had. Also? You aren't good at [insert skill here]? COLLABORATE WITH A FRIEND!!!! don't use AI for that!!! Art is for learning and human connection!!

goes without saying but: I HATE HATE HATE AI. Never used it, never will. It is mind poison. When I work through an art piece, I learn something new about the world, a friend, myself... You can't have that experience by delegating the work to a machine. Using AI PREVENTS learning. It's depressing.

I've seen a lot of artists altering their styles, glazing images, etc. and I felt very strongly that I shouldn't have to change my behavior because of some malevolent force. That's just capitulation, I thought. I don't want to mention AI, I want to gleefully ignore it as it were an insecure bully.

But it reaches everywhere. It puts doubt on everyone's minds about who's even real. I try not to become too paranoid. I can't ignore the destruction that this technology is wreaking on everything.
