Today Rhylo learns: The Cartier Santos has different sizes🫨(small, medium, and large) PS: The Santos is kind of my "if I won the lottery I won't tell anyone, but there will be signs" watch. I love the design, but I haven't look deep into it because it's way out of price range.

Designed and 3D printed a really dangerous pencil holder😅 PS: I actually quite dislike pencils, I don't like the graphite and wood dust you get when you sharpen them. I don't like you can smear the graphite on the paper, and I don't like the graphite can smear onto the skin...

But, these are pencils my family members are not using anymore and I'm frugal, so I'll be using them for woodworking and other workshop stuffs. I'm pretty sure these can last me a lifetime.

I didn't realize the belt is leaning forward 20 degrees, so the tail I designed came out wrong. After accounting the lean of the belt in Blender, I think this one looks better. PS: I know it kind of looks like a pony's tail, but I'm calling this good enough😅👍

They look like they came from the same product line as Cain (RoboCop 2 (1990)), but the two in Mandalorian and Grogu are gym buddied when they are off the clock😂 It's just nice to see Phil moving on from the disaster in Costa Rica, you know?

Egineering takes man power and time, which means it's expensive. I would wager building this truck rig in CG is easier and cheaper👀? So doing the film with stop motion almost feels like...using the real world as a render engine...? (Don't get me wrong, I love stop motion♥️)

I'm really happy how the stickers come together so quickly. I printed out the labels at a print shop, then I applied wide double-sided tape to the back of the paper, and cut them out by hand with a sharp knife. PS: I did this because I'm interested if it'll work or not😅

Here's the mount being used for it's intended purpose, mounting a tail on my body! It's sturdily connected, and it can be mounted blind (by touch)

Experimenting a magnetic taper dovetail mount🤓

Today Rhylo learns: You can paint 3D printed PETG with nail polish! The colours from left to right: matte mint, matte black, gloss white, gloss black. Both the blacks has really nice coverage; all of them have great adhesion (cannot be rub off), but they can't fill the print lines.

I desgined a sticker for my gag/gift RAM sticks😅 PS: These are meant as gifts for protogen fursuiters at the furry con I'll be attending. PS: Yeah I know it does not look like actual RAM labels at all, but it's fun and I don't care🤪

Not sure if it oozed out some kind of juice, or it absorbed water from the air, but there's definitely moisture. The magnets and screws are corroded, and you can see the paint on the machine has changed color.

I modelled them in Blender based on traffic cone pictures, 3D printed them and embedded nyloc nuts inside when they are printed partially. They are not the primary fasteners to hold the plate in place.

I literally changed ONE setting and the print came out much nicer looking! (This is a very shiny filament, it feels much smoother to the touch IRL)

I noticed when the model is printed in PLA, the outer wall is consistently at the max 200 mm/s; when it's printed in PETG, the outer wall varies in speed. My PLA and PETG have very similar settings, and I don't know what's limiting the outer wall speed.

I found this "Don't slow down outer walls" option that can't override what's limiting the outer wall speed. Once it's turned on, the outer wall speed is consistently at the maximum 200 mm/s, which results in pretty smooth walls.

I printed the Vertical Fine Artifacts test print, and it looks like the VFA is less at certain speed and print orientation. I also printed the Max Volumetric Speed test print, it turns out my MVS can be set at 18 instead of 12.

I modified the chair on the left by flipping the horizontal rungs upside down, so I can use a flat sheet of plywood as the seat. (The chair is in a place where my brother's cats frequent, and he worries his cats might have their feet caught between the seat splats. It's a real thing, he's a vet)

Fun fact: Cheap wooden furnitures like this usually use a glue similar to Gorilla glue. The glue is kind of brittle and often cracks overtime. I actually took the whole chair apart and reglue everything, much sturdier this way💪

These two cartoonishly large RAM sticks look very different, why?🤔 Current theory: The yellow is PLA, the green is PETG. They have different print speeds, and the PETG just happened to be printed at the speed that's the resonate frequency of the printer?

As a hat lover, Tank Girl (1995) made me want to get a trooper hat / ushanka! PS: This Rocketeer-ish outfit at the end of the video is super hot... Honorable mentions: Super young Christina Ricci with a ushanka😵

Poor man's method of extracting heat set insert nuts in 3D prints🥴 PS: I'm heating up the shaft with a lighter, which heat up the nut, which softens the plastic. I then rip+peel off the plastic with a plier PS: I'm wearing a mask

The minimal viable product works🫨!!!

I'm attempting to make fursuit claws with touchscreen capability. Step 1: Buying some cheap stylus. If I understand correctly, a touchscreen works by sensing capacitance change caused by our fingers. These stylus use conductive shaft and rubber tip to "lengthen" our fingers.

Current game plan is: 1. Design a "claw ring" like this one on Printables 2. Embed the rubber tip in the tip of the claw 3. Use copper tape to connect the inside of the finger-cup to the rubber tip

I can't think of a reason why would you need a tiny stylus, that's basically just the tip? and it can be stored in the headphone jack? With a stylus that short, why not just use your fingers? MAYBE you don't want you finger oil on the phone screen?🤔

I really love the scene with red dress. I'm pretty sure it's altered with VFX, but having Nikki's completely in the dark, with just a teeny bit of glint in her eyes is such of good choice. Also Bear is such an asshole, he sees Nikki like this, and he's like: yep nothing wrong, let's date.

I'm only documenting this for my own sake, the colors are (left to right): 寶石綠 (Gem Green), 薄荷藍 (Mint Blue), and Right: 粉藍 (Pastel Blue) The filaments are from the same filament dealer I usually buy from. I really have to document this, becasuse the product photo does not match the actual color.
