Every time I draw a chibi enough time has passed in between that it feels like I'm figuring out a style for them all over again Think I'm keeping the Dragon Half-style pointed feet though

Autumn weather brings out the sweaters, the falling leaves, and the foxy ladies #Art #DigitalArt #Sketch #RetroHeartArt

I swear this started as wanting to freehand draw the fox hand pose for practice first, the rest just built around that

It's finally starting to cool down slightly which means I can start drawing characters in cute sweaters again #Art #DigitalArt #Sketch #RetroHeartArt

Funny numbers are shriking rapidly, we used to have 420, then 69, but then 67 took over and suddenly we're down to 4 A dangerous precedent

Update: I have reached into the Godot tag stack Shadow Realm and achieved a typewriter effect by using get_total_character_count still high-key mad about it tho

Now I have to figure out replacing brackets to sanitize BBCode input, but it can't be a simple string replace because nothing about this can ever be straightforward I don't believe in luck or fate or anything like that but The Journey for Happiness Ends from Octopath 2 started playing and, man,

Crashing out over Godot's RichTextLabel tag stack because it apparently sends whatever you add to it to the fucking Shadow Realm and you can't get it back as regular-ass text

If you add something to the tag stack it becomes some unknowable Final Shape that you can pull the text from WITHOUT the tags on it but not WITH the tags, and I need it WITH the tags to be added as text so I can achieve the print effect I've wanted from the beginning This has made me Actually Mad

I want to get an emote and add it to a text string. I know how to get the emote and make it into an Image, then ImageTexture (these are 2 different things) that Godot uses. But it has to be a Texture2D (this is a 3rd thing) for Godot to recognize it, which it won't do through BBCode because it

doesn't recognize the ImageTexture as a Texture2D. So apparently I need to add it to the "tag stack" which is apparently some low-level thing that you're maybe encouraged to NOT use despite being in the documentation, but it's the only way I can find to add an ImageTexture as a Texture2D.

At a point in my life and learning Godot where I'm saying utterly deranged phrases like "yeah seems like the chunk processor needs to make sure increment matches numberwang to display emotes correctly" and it's a factually correct statement but only to me

Went to update my category on Twitch because it's been... A While since I last streamed, and "DropsEnabled" was added to my tags I didn't add that, haven't changed the category from Art in weeks, I haven't even streamed anything at all for like 2.5 weeks. So that's cool

Turns out one of the things to get me to write again is seeing people confidently and incorrectly recap information and answer questions about it when they have no fucking idea what they're talking about

My head's been in a rough space all month to the point where it's been hard to create things and even personally journaling what I'm feeling locks me up, but making custom art for JSR seems to be what's clicking lately and I'm rolling with it

Still determining what to do about my own subtitles but since Bun-E03 has dedicated voicework and Dusty uses TTS, I can at least set something up for their subtitles

While I've been trying to kick my brain back into creative gear, I've also been looking at speech-to-text transcription in Godot, and the situation is DIRE I've only turned up a VOSK option which hasn't been updated in several years and only uses C# (I've only learned GDScript until now) -

- and is painfully slow. The other option uses Whisper via a local model and I don't feel good about that considering it's OpenAI and their source is "around the web" which means, y'know, theft My parents used Dragon Naturally Speaking over two decades ago, this seems like a solved problem

I'd really like to have thematic subtitles for the stream as an extra accessibility feature. OBS has built-in Captions options but I'm genuinely not sure it goes through Finding myself frustrated that the only two options are waiting a long time for terrible accuracy or Theftbot But Local

You can insert your own art into Jet Grind Radio, available now for the Sega Dreamcast. The cops literally can't stop you from doing it

The process is a little complex, but not that bad. Extract files from your Very Legal Rip of the game, use the JSR Graffiti Tool to replace the files you want, rebuild it. The hardest part is figuring out what tools you want to use for extraction and rebuild and Z-fighting textures on emulators

It's wild, honestly. We've got a Nintendo and Wii emulator that organizes, optimizes, and patches your games before giving you a little good boy pat on the head, but Dreamcast is still working off of tools made by a user named Familyguy from 2009

Nailed down a process for making a custom version of Jet Set/Grind Radio with my own art replacing some of the usual sprays this morning Honestly the Big Idea would be to have a Community Edition patch that people can apply with stuff from a bunch of different artists, but gotta start small for now

Anyways when we had the Special Election earlier this year one of the candidates whose legal name was Livingforgod Andcountry and I still think about that from time to time

I've become an old man that likes to read the arguments for/against propositions even when I know exactly how I'm gonna vote already, mostly because the ones that are easy layups have the funniest / most clownshoes arguments from people who know they're fucked at the polls

"Politicians spend too much, taxing the top 2% richest Californians won't help!" Don't worry dawg I have more than enough energy to hate both groups, I can "yes, and" this one

The area I live in has been hit hard with the gentrification beam particularly since COVID and tech workers spreading out from the city A clothing store opened up a while back and they had a cap that said "I can't afford to live here" on it I get what drives people to cause property damage

Been slowly pulling myself out of a mental hole over the last two weeks, and was kinda hoping I could will myself into an art stream this morning, but I think I need a bit more time before I'm ready to be "on" for something like that Got some big ideas but they need to cook a little longer, I think

Told myself I was done with reworking stuff the other day, this was incorrect Mentals have been rough lately but I've been focusing on smaller things, like randomizing Bun-E03's glasses on her casual outfits in certain scenes #Art #Godot

I also brought Bun-E03's expressions for the Creative scene in line with her appearance in other scenes (which admittedly haven't gotten much use at all lately) up to 15 from the 5 she's had on that scene for a good while now

Deadman Danny is a character that I don't think I'd be good with at my current level of skill in Deadlock but holy shit his kit is so much fun to use and he fits that obnoxious little bastard archetype I love so much

Okay back to my Art Hole because I'm dragging my feet on a zine project and also dragging the rest of my body across the finish line of making frame animations in Godot after spending all yesterday evening drawing said frames
