Political commentary, claims explored, excuses and lies laid bare. From the file: • Matt Goodwin’s 2063 date runs on an assumption that halved last year. The date never moved. • Restore Britain promises a mass review of citizenships. • 81% in England say anyone can be English. https://fibberd.com

Who pays for Reform UK’s polling? Aide James Orr, filmed by Channel 4, 4 September: “This guy paid a pollster to run a poll that went to the national newspapers. That’s it.” Nigel Farage, same day: “it wasn’t commissioned by Reform.” https://fibberd.com/b/reform-has-a-kettle-problem #UKPolitics

Bridget Phillipson MP@bphillipsonmp.bsky.social

Who is bankrolling Nigel Farage's party? What interests are they seeking to advance? Are they acting in Britain's best interests? Reform UK are engulfed in sleaze and scandal. Labour will protect our democracy from foreign influence. www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/poli...

Nigel Farage on LBC, 4 September, after the Channel 4 donor film: “Whilst the poll benefited Reform, it wasn’t commissioned by Reform. […] Polls are funded by overseas people every single week.” Not a new line for Reform UK. https://fibberd.com/b/reform-has-a-kettle-problem #UKPolitics

Asked by Nick Robinson why Reform U.K.Ltd are so dependent on foreign donations.? Farage’s answer was “There are British patriots working all over the world” Oh so freedom of movement is good for very rich businessman but it’s not good enough for ordinary people?

Reform UK at 20% with Find Out Now, its lowest. In September two Reform aides were filmed arranging £32,500 of polling, paid through the reporters’ US company. Farage: “Polls are funded by overseas people every single week.” https://fibberd.com/b/reform-has-a-kettle-problem #UKPolitics

Happy Friday x New polling by Find Out Now has Nigel Farage's Reform UK on 20% - the lowest numbers the company has recorded for the party. Labour are out in front on 26%, with the Conservatives in second place on 21%.

Declaring things has been a theme. When Channel 4 filmed two aides arranging £32,500 of polling paid through the reporters' US company, Reform UK's answer was: "We did not commission the poll. We did not have to declare it." https://fibberd.com/b/reform-has-a-kettle-problem #UKPolitics

Restore Britain's own paper keeps "British" for every citizen, then uses a second word, "Britons", for the White British alone. Rupert Lowe's party put the two tiers in writing. https://fibberd.com/b/british-but-not-britons #UKPolitics #AntiExtremistResearch

Sunder Katwala (sundersays)@sundersays.bsky.social

Most racist speech is lawful. There was no legal impediment to Reform keeping all of their racist councillors in the party: they chose to suspend some due to the reputational damage to Reform of association with such overt racism. (While Restore Britain invites, welcomes + defends racist members).

Dan Jukes, the aide quoted here, has been on tape before. Channel 4 caught him and James Orr in September arranging £32,500 of Reform UK polling, to be paid through the reporters' US company. Reform denies wrongdoing. https://fibberd.com/b/reform-has-a-kettle-problem #UKPolitics

Farage claim that £5m was reward for Brexit was ‘not press office line’, close aide says www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

Lowe's own paper already answers Nick Robinson's question. It keeps "British" for every citizen, then brings in a second word, Britons, and defines it as the White British. One passport, two tiers. https://fibberd.com/b/british-but-not-britons #UKPolitics

New from me on Political Sandbox: What Exactly Are They Restoring? Nick Robinson asked Rupert Lowe whether, by the definition he was using, King Charles is a white Briton. Lowe wouldn't answer. There's a reason he wouldn't. https://politicalsandbox.substack.com/p/what-exactly-are-they-restoring

Getting the story straight is the hard part. Freud's borrower says he never had the kettle, the hole was already there, and it was fine when returned. Reform UK did the same over the Channel 4 film. https://fibberd.com/b/reform-has-a-kettle-problem #UKPolitics

Anti-Reform@antireform.bsky.social

It seems Reform UK has forgotten the rule for all criminal gangs - practice getting your stories straight! "Farage claim that £5m was reward for Brexit was ‘not press office line’, close aide says" www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

Second time on tape for Dan Jukes. In September Channel 4 filmed him and James Orr arranging £32,500 of polling for Reform UK, paid through the reporters' US company. No money changed hands; Reform denies wrongdoing. https://fibberd.com/b/reform-has-a-kettle-problem #UKPolitics

The aide on tape is Dan Jukes. After Channel 4 filmed Reform UK in September, the party said of Jukes and James Orr: "they've gone, they've left the building" and "They won't be coming back." https://fibberd.com/b/reform-has-a-kettle-problem #UKPolitics

Last time Reform UK was filmed undercover (Channel 4, September) the answers ran from "a hoax" to "The party has done nothing wrong", with two aides gone within days. Every answer, in their own words: https://fibberd.com/b/reform-has-a-kettle-problem #UKPolitics

Some people say that all politicians are all as bad as each other. I think the Reform documentary has exposed that some are actually much much worse. harryeccles94.substack.com/p/first-they...

Former Reform UK candidate Matt Goodwin's 2063 date was built at the peak of migration. The central input has halved since, and the date has not moved. https://fibberd.com/b/a-date-built-on-sand #UKPolitics

Mic Wright@brokenbottleboy.bsky.social

Matt Goodwin is a deeply unpleasant human being. I debated him once and many commenters on YouTube believed he won because he wore a suit and I wore a hoodie. That and I seemed emotional. That’s because I actually say what I believe. Goodwin is a racist for cash.

Laila Cunningham for Reform UK on LBC, 5 September, after Channel 4’s film: “The people who are responsible for what people saw in the documentary are no longer with the party. Nigel dealt with that very quickly.” https://fibberd.com/b/reform-has-a-kettle-problem #UKPolitics

Sunder Katwala (sundersays)@sundersays.bsky.social

Laila Cunmingham, the London Mayoral candidate, expresses amger at the overt racism of Reform councillors, though strongly trusts Farage on racism She says she is proud to be English of Muslim heritage, which is another argunent some party voices (Braverman, Goodwin) question.

On Reform UK’s vetting: six weeks ago, after Channel 4’s film, Robert Jenrick told Sky News Reform UK’s checks were done “to a high standard in our party.” https://fibberd.com/b/reform-has-a-kettle-problem #UKPolitics

William Duguid@williamduguid1.bsky.social

'Reform UK has blamed poor vetting for the racists in its midst. That explanation, however, leaves the systematic choices of its own leadership unexamined.' Nafeez Ahmed, via Byline Times

Last time Reform UK was filmed undercover, Nigel Farage’s line was vetting: “nobody, nobody should be brought to me, unless they’ve been vetted.” Now it is ITV’s turn. https://fibberd.com/b/reform-has-a-kettle-problem #UKPolitics

'An undercover reporter was also told to delete their social media account if they were considering running to be a Reform UK councillor.' #ReformUK #racist #sexist #antiIslam #antiSemitic #NigelFarage

Robert Jenrick, now of Reform UK, on Sky News on 5 September, after Channel 4 filmed two Reform UK aides: “we in Reform, like other parties, have got people who do that for us and they do it to a high standard in our party.” https://fibberd.com/b/reform-has-a-kettle-problem #UKPolitics

Andrew Whiteley@andrewwhiteley.bsky.social

'Honest Bob' Jenrick lying through his teeth again. Anybody who believes this shit is either a racist or a moron. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

Last time Reform UK didn’t wait for its own inquiry. Lee Anderson to ITV, 4 September, on the two aides in Channel 4’s film: “They’ve stepped down from their roles, that’s the right thing to do. […] They won’t be coming back.” https://fibberd.com/b/reform-has-a-kettle-problem #UKPolitics

Tim Altmann@timaltmann.bsky.social

What's he still doing in the party then? Farage has made repeated pledges over the last two years to rid Reform of “extremists” and “bigots” and introduce vetting. The party says it carries out vetting checks on everyone who wants to stand for election. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

Last time it was Channel 4. Reform UK’s Laila Cunningham on LBC, 5 September: “The people who are responsible for what people saw in the documentary are no longer with the party. Nigel dealt with that very quickly.” https://fibberd.com/b/reform-has-a-kettle-problem #UKPolitics

ITV’s film is not Reform UK’s first. After Channel 4 filmed two of its aides in September, Reform UK said it was a hoax, a set-up, a matter for a full inquiry, and that the aides had gone. Every answer, in its own words: https://fibberd.com/b/reform-has-a-kettle-problem #UKPolitics

Can’t help thinking that these clips from the ITV exposure of Reform racist councillors and candidates on ITV news will work as a party political broadcast for some of the voters who are attracted to Reform!

ITV has now filmed Reform UK councillors and candidates. When Channel 4 did it in September, Reform UK’s first statement called it “a hoax perpetuated by foreign-funded, climate change activists posing as would-be party donors.” https://fibberd.com/b/reform-has-a-kettle-problem #UKPolitics

This investigation, just shown on ITV news, tells you everything you already know about Reform! Inside Reform: Councillors and candidates' extreme and racist views on camera  www.itv.com/news/2026-10...

Before Reform UK’s inquiry into the two aides had even begun, Lee Anderson to ITV, 4 September: “Dan Jukes and James Orr, they’ve gone […] They won’t be coming back.” The verdict on the aides came first. The inquiry came after. https://fibberd.com/b/reform-has-a-kettle-problem #UKPolitics

Scott Horton@robertscotthorton.bsky.social

Reform UK’s internal inquiry into alleged foreign donations, which found no breach of electoral law, was conducted by a British barrister who represented US President Donald Trump in failed litigation over the Trump–Russia dossier. Adam Richardson has also acted personally for the party’s leader,

Falling in the polls, and still not saying who counts as English. Half of Reform UK’s voters say you need English family heritage. Its equalities spokesman says Englishness is an ethnicity. Farage won’t draw ethnic lines, just invasion ones. https://fibberd.com/b/who-gets-to-be-english #UKPolitics

Farage on LBC, 4 September, asked about the £32,500 poll in the Channel 4 film on Reform UK: “Polls are funded by overseas people every single week. Every single week.” Worth keeping beside any story about who is behind a poll. https://fibberd.com/b/reform-has-a-kettle-problem #UKPolitics

A close adviser of Nigel Farage for many years had an "influential" role at a national polling company that was not publicly disclosed, according to a report.

Richard Tice for Reform UK on BBC Radio 4 Today, 4 September, the morning this inquiry was announced: “Let’s wait and see what the investigation says. […] We’ve got a KC’s opinion that makes clear no rules have been broken.” https://fibberd.com/b/reform-has-a-kettle-problem #UKPolitics
