There's a meme going around encouraging people to sit if violence escalates at a protest. This is a bad idea for many reasons. Instead, plant your feet, lock arms with people next to you, and be silent. If everyone does this, the agitators will stand out and can be more easily dealt with. #NoKings

I need someone in the arena of mental health to do a study on the following hypothesis: During authoritarian regimes, the folks who are the most depressed about politics are the ones who are doing the least to change the system. Because I think this is 100% true and I bet the data would back me up.

Yes, RFK Jr’s insulting and offensive comments about autism are meant to distract us from our rapidly eroding civil liberties. But we’re not going to ignore them. Because we don’t throw already marginalized people under the bus, AND … we can fight more than one battle at a time.
