Timelapsing a drive from Shinjuku back to Yokohama... watch for Tokyo Tower at 0:07 🗼 👀 🚙 Shot on GoPro on a magnetic mount on the nose of the car

The local cardiac care charity giving away cars as part of their prize draw... they may as well add in a carton of Silk Cut while they're at it , the messaging is about the same.

This is the exact problem — I bet vibe coding for a brand new type of iPhone is a super fun time without an AI that has stolen and trained on 100,000 posts from stackoverflow.

It's weird seeing AI bubbles across the world begin to collapse in real-time because AI continually needs more input to function, every time it's used its trained and becomes shittier, but nobody's writing their own code now, so it's a death spiral for everyone who needs claude to work

If he runs I'm running against him just so I can wipe the floor with him.

Taoiseach Micheál Martin has said that Ryan Tubridy would be 'very welcome' to enter the world of politics, after the former Late Late Show host joked that every night he goes to bed "dreaming some day" he will reclaim his grandfather's seat in Galway West. www.thejournal.ie/ryan-tubridy...

I wish these actually lived up to the hype — going by the ridiculous , obnoxious ads I am fairly they feel about as effective a baby farting through a paper straw

if Brad Bird is up for another Monsters, Inc., I think it's time for them to take down Waternoose, who finally made parole and successfully ran for President.

The best thing about the clocks going back is that when you wake up as usual at 3am, paralysed by dread, you find it’s only 2am and oh god the aching void of night will never end.

the new Becky Chambers starts off quite cool and slightly disconnected , but when it binds itself together at the halfway mark it's stunningly good and heartwarming as aw-get-out ❤️

The recent exponential decrease in the cost of solar energy is probably as important an event in human history as the developments of computers, the discovery of DNA, antibiotics, you name it. We've completely solved energy production, forever , we just need time to implement it.

Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But what’s something that you’ve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?

You can buy 1kw of solar for €200 — just unbelievably cheap , and that will be €120 in two years. It's cheaper to use panels than it is to repair a fence!

"Consensual hugs" — the point is they were NOT consensual, that's the whole problem in the first place. Tóibín comes across like a groomer instead of a politician.

The Journal@thejournal.ie

Adverts run by the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre looking at consensual hugs between children and their grandparents has been suspended after criticism. Aontú's Peader Tóibín called the ad "bonkers", as he urged a "need to build resilience" among children. www.thejournal.ie/grandparents...

Oh great, people are now using ShatGippity to write their application emails.

my god .... accommodation ads have never , ever moved this fast 🫢

Whaaat is this mad bastard into now... I swear he just yeets these books into the void without publicity, because I should honestly know about the this already.

I like how the major crisis in The Pitt S02 is being reduced to roughly the technology level of UCHG.

Literally any type of screen in a car that isn't a 6" phone screen for GPS

That’s another question: What technology did you think would be really cool but turns out to make life less enjoyable?

One of my favourite ideas in the whole book, along with the collapse of cable TV under the weight of too many horrible advertisements

Peter Sagal@petersagal.bsky.social

In “Infinite Jest” (a book you can’t reference w/o seeming to brag, but so be it) DFW imagines that once video calls become common, a huge mask industry develops b/c nobody wants their face to be seen at random moments, until everybody realizes they’d just rather not.

These prices should be making headlines the same way petrol and diesel do — 460w for just over €100 is insanely good.
