Liked the look of Jordan Coc - hard to tell though as Pakistan so poor - but Dan Lawrence will be found out - so leg-sided - and struggled against spin. Robinson great as ever (pitch and conditions depending)

Are there are any other sports - like Test cricket - where the quality is declining, rather than improving? The only one I can think of is the women's hammer / javelin - but that was due to the success of the East Germans doping regime in the 70s, rather than a more recent decline in skill levels.

Can’t they just give the tickets away to at least half fill Headingley? Imagine if the weather was crap these grounds would be seriously empty #the100

Welcome to Lords ! We’ll have all the best Tests and biggest games, thanks. What? The pitch is rubbish? How dare you! This is the Home Of Cricket I’ll have you know! #the100

Calibre of players in The Hundred much improved. Weather perfect. School holidays. Some good games. So why all the empty seats and reduced viewing figures? Guess no-one gives a sxxx about the teams.

Not sure what’s more depressing, that a journalist can, apparently, be ‘bought’ - or that the going fee is just £100 an article. Lobbying giant filmed offering reporter payment for flattering client coverage in national press - Guardian

For the next 30 days cricket commentators have to try and pretend that the Oval- based team isn’t going to win the competition despite the fact they obviously are #thehundred

How much longer do we have to indulge the McCullum / Key project? Humiliating Ashes defeat should have been the end of it. The 'reset' and the series v NZ has been an embarrassment. None of the players are progressing, just clinging on in a whirlpool of chaos.

England finding it much harder to take wickets now the pitch is flat rather than bouncing as inconsistently as an overloaded 2CV negotiating a French farm track #EngvNZ

The England team's observance of the 'curfew' has been about as successful as the Iranian 'ceasefire' - although at least the Thames still remains open to freight traffic.

Time to call time on the Stokes' era. His batting's gone and he's injury prone, so can't bowl through a series. Get Sam Curran in. I guess make Brook captain, assuming he wasn't fighting anyone on the same night...or give Root a second coming.

NEW: Ben Stokes' future as England Test captain is in doubt after it was announced that he and Gus Atkinson are being investigated by the ECB for an undisclosed "incident" at a nightclub in the early hours of Monday morning. Full story: srkl.in/63320B7mmbw

Labour defending Twitter is a good example of why they are so ineffective in government: utterly unwilling to take decisions which have any controversy attached.

Lammy says he doesn't think the Govt should come off X because that's where a lot of people get their information. FFS.

For added jeopardy and to appeal to modern audiences - cameras in dressing room, reduce time to one minute. And you’re only allowed to start padding up when the wicket ahead of yours has fallen..

Bhutan's Ritshi Choden became the first batter to be timed out in women's international cricket. The Cricket Association of Nepal apologised for the decision, saying while the dismissal was within the laws, it did not reflect the "spirit of the game" srkl.in/63325B7YW7W
