AI users are working longer because, for the first time, our tools can finally keep pace with our imagination. When output is cheap, your greatest leverage isn't how much you build, but the taste to know what is worth building - and the rest required to see the difference.

GStreamer Conference 2025 details now confirmed! Join us on Thursday and Friday 23-24 October 2025 in London, UK. The conference will be followed by a 2-3 day hackfest. After that it's FOMS and @demuxed.com 2025. Hope to see you all in London! #gstreamer #opensource #multimedia #audio #video

I heard StackOverflow is “dying”. But something like StackOverflow will still need to exist in the future. Maybe not in its current form, but in my opinion, some hard factual solutions directory still have a place in a world of coding dominated by LLMs.

OpenHands (formerly OpenDevin) released a coding CLI. " - Has top accuracy (similar to Claude Code) - Is completely open source, MIT licensed - Is model agnostic, use an API or bring your own - Is simple to install and run `pip install openhands-ai` and `openhands` (no Docker!) "

I used to write notes on my phone for ideas I had on the go. Some parser for some specific format, or a script for something else. Lately, I write what I have in mind as a prompt to Claude Sonnet or Gemini 2.5 Pro. Review on my phone, then refine.

Then re-input the output from one LLM to another for review. When I get to my computer I usually have a very decent start point or a workable solution fully implemented. This is a new era of programming, no doubt.

I just uploaded my slides for the talk I gave at Kamailio World 2025. I introduced RTP over #QUIC ( #ROQ ) and my new #imquic library, with a few observations on what future this may have, if any (especially considering most of the focus is on #MoQ instead) www.slideshare.net/slideshow/rt...

Today, we’re announcing the preview release of ty, an extremely fast type checker and language server for Python, written in Rust. In early testing, it's 10x, 50x, even 100x faster than existing type checkers. (We've seen >600x speed-ups over Mypy in some real-world projects.)

I would suggest you give it a try. Approach with curiosity, use some well regarded open-source tools for LLM coding like Cline or Roo Code. Plus some state of the art LLMs like Gemini 2.5 Pro or Claude Sonnet 3.7 (or 3.5).

Then I learned that I am more productive, by many orders of magnitude, if I do the opposite. I know what I want and I drive the LLMs to do what I already know that I need. I evaluate the outputs and drive the LLMs to automate the solution.

Feeling grateful today! Found an old spreadsheet where I'd listed companies that seemed impossible to reach. Seeing Netflix on that list is a humbling reminder of how fortunate I've been. ✨

You know, it seems that whenever anyone resigns from Linux kernel work in total frustration, and cites a few of the things that were the final straws, it's always the same person whose caustic manner is at the root -- and it isn't Linus. marcan.st/2025/02/resi...

Is there an alternative to the bitvec crate? It's great, but it's a bit unmaintained (for good reasons, no shame on the author) which is causing some problems. I need BE and LE loading and storing of various integer types for a u8 array or slice. Ideally it'd also support LSB0 and MSB0 config.
