Queer in AI and oSTEM are launching our 2026-2027 Grad School App Mentorship program! LGBTQIA+ graduate school applicants, you can apply at openreview.net/group?id=Que... to get feedback on your application materials (e.g., CV, personal statement, etc). More info at www.queerinai.com/grad-app-aid.

Graduate school applications often require specific knowledge and networks, which queer people are often excluded from. In addition, LGBTQIA+ people often have questions around how to discuss their identities in applications and how to find welcoming institutions and groups.

We have given over $400,000 to over 400 LGBTQIA+ scholars since 2020, allowing them to apply to grad and medical schools in the first place, apply to more schools, and help them keep paying for rent, groceries, and other essentials.

Queer in AI is organizing socials at AIES 2026! Queer scientists and allies are warmly welcome in our social. Feel free to meet us on Monday for bar crawl, Tuesday at Kappa Bar and Wednesday in Copenhagen after the conference.

Queer in AI is proud to showcase several papers that our members are presenting at @facct.bsky.social 2026 tomorrow through Sunday. One paper examines how years-long activism around name change policies has had an immensely positive impact for authors, benefiting both queer and cis scholars! 🤝🌈
