Yikes! We’re feeling shaken from bots hijacking our Introduction to Communications Testing workshop. We’re really sorry to folks who were in the workshop for the explicit content, and we’re working to troubleshoot and reschedule. Please bare with us. Sending care to you all 💚

First one tomrrow!

Excited to see this fab new communications guide go out into the wild, from our friend and associate - Ralph at Framing Matters. Head over to weallmakemistakes.org for the free download, and a series of cute animal illustrations to help us remember common comms traps to avoid in our narrative work.

From unflattening our structure, to welcoming new trustees & creating new support offerings for grassroots organisers doing narrative work, we've had a generative first half of 2026. Check out our latest blog for more - incl. trainings, events & learning resources: publicinterest.org.uk/spring-2026

We had a brilliant day at the Shifting Cultural Perceptions of Our Economy conference in York, hosted by Friends Provident Foundation.

Rich conversations and plenaries — Ella Saltmarshe on Deep Narratives, Hazel Sheffield's Frontierlands, and from the Poverty Truth Commission on why lived experience has to be at the heart of how we talk about a failing economy.

Our Framing the Economy work (with NEON, New Economic Foundation and Frameworks Institute) got a shout out. Feels as relevant as ever - the need to tackle narratives around austerity, individual responsibility and economic fatalism that make inequality feel inevitable. Spoiler alert: it isn't!

In the last hours before Scottish Parliament, Senedd Cymru and UK local elections, a gentle reminder of 5 things anyone communicating for a more equitable, democratic & sustainable world should keep in mind—on doorsteps & online. Hello! It’s been a little quiet on here but we’ve been reflecting, planning, resourcing and reconnecting with ourselves and our communities over this time 🩷💛 Last week we spent time working together in sunny Machynlleth ☀️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

And you might have noticed our team has transformed again! We’re so excited to have welcomed Hannah (previously our Curriculum Lead) into our Head of Programmes role and Anu into our Head of Operations role! 💃🏿✨ More updates on what we’re up to coming soon! ☺️

New year, new adventure? How about co-chair of a small charity working to strengthen the stories that unite us? If you'd like to be considered for the role, we'll need your application by the 20th January. Full details on the link below.

One week to go!

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS EXTENDED TO 14TH JULY PIRC are looking for *new* Team Heads and a Freelance Fundraiser. Could one of these be you, or could you help us find people interested in the roles? publicinterest.org.uk/join-our-team/

We loved meeting with our board last week to chat PIRC's values, aims and future strategy. It's hard, when much feels hopeless, to work out what a small org can do to best play our role in change. We think we are figuring it out though! Stay tuned 👀

A few years ago, we worked with NEON, @350.org, and a bunch of grassroots groups across the UK on Framing Climate Justice. We wanted to work out how to communicate about climate change in ways that would lead to wide-scale action, and stay grounded in racial justice values framingclimatejustice.org
