Prof. Rock 📚🎮

Haven't posted on Bluesky in a while. I'm sitting at around 600 followers, but I barely get any interaction on my posts. It makes me wonder if it's still worth being active here. How's everyone else's experience been lately? Are you still finding good conversations and connections?

One of my students surprised me with these little gaming consoles and controllers today! I don't know if they made them themselves, but the fact that they thought of me and my love for gaming really made my day. It's the little things that make teaching so rewarding! #Gaming

Easy Mode isn’t cheating. Sometimes it’s the only way I’m finishing the game.

Late-night gaming when you’re married hits a little different. Fellow married gamers, you know exactly what I’m talking about. #Gaming

I play most of my video games on Easy. Not because I’m bad at gaming... well, yes, that too , but mostly because I don’t have a lot of time to game. So I want to enjoy games at a level that won’t frustrate me and lets me actually enjoy the experience. Thanks, developers, for giving us an Easy Mode!

Still at it. ✏️ Continuing my quest to learn how to draw so I can rely a whole lot less on generative AI art. Today’s lesson: textures and patterns. Turns out drawing a bunch of tiny rocks is both oddly satisfying and a great way to question your life choices. 😂 One pencil stroke at a time. 🎨

Ended up grabbing Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot DAIMA Edition for $24.99. I grew up watching Dragon Ball, and honestly, instead of rewatching the whole series, I’d rather live through it. Full Kakarot + A New Power Awakens Parts 1 & 2 + both DAIMA adventures for $25? Yeah, I’m happy with that purchase. 😅

I did the 9 games that define me thing. Really cool! My 9 games #My9Games

Happy National Elephant Appreciation Day! 🐘 Fun fact: elephants are afraid of bees, which somehow makes these enormous animals even more lovable. And on this day in 1994, #Friends premiered on NBC.

Happy Miniature Golf Day! ⛳ Fun fact: back in the 1920s, New York City had more than 150 rooftop miniature golf courses. Now I’m wondering why rooftop mini golf isn’t still a normal thing. 😂

I’m here asking y’all… Do you remember?…

I’ve been saying I want to learn how to draw and rely less on AI-generated art, so I finally started! First drawing lesson down. It’s nothing fancy, just learning to control the pencil and see shapes differently, but I’m pretty proud of finishing this little exercise. Gotta start somewhere! ✏️🎨

Happy World Bamboo Day! 🎋 Some types of bamboo can grow up to 35 inches in a single day. Meanwhile, I’ve been trying to build the same good habits for about three years. Bamboo: 1 Me: 0 😂

Fun little piece of internet history: Google.com was registered on September 15, 1997, by the same project that would eventually become Google. They wouldn’t officially become a company until almost a year later. Hard to imagine the internet without it now. 😅

Today is National Coloring Day! 🖍️ Fun fact: coloring uses both hemispheres of the brain. So if anyone needs me today, I’m not procrastinating. I’m exercising my brain. My planner said so. 😂

It's so great when you support a site and they actually have your back! 😅

Only thing I found worth buying through the appreciation sale. If you are just getting a Switch for the first time, then the games on sale feel like Nintendo Classic price. Worth it for new buyers, but either I already have the game or I don't really care for them. good discount on hardware

Got a NEW VIDEO out, was feeling real nostalgic about ocarina of time cause of the remake #ocarinaoftime #ocarinaremake #Nintendo youtu.be/kw6yupkh7Iw?...

Nintendo reportedly got around $300 million back in tariff refunds. So if this sale is 30% off a $60 game, that’s about $18 saved per purchase. To “give back” the full $300 million through discounts, gamers would need to buy roughly 16.7 MILLION games. Yeah…math.

Today is World Suicide Prevention Day. If you’re worried about someone, reach out. Talk to them. Listen to them. And if you’re struggling yourself, please reach out and talk to someone too. There are people who love you, who need you in their lives, even when it may not feel that way. 💛

At this point, I’m genuinely a little scared. Nintendo remade Star Fox. Zelda is getting the hyper-realistic treatment. So now I’m sitting here thinking…What if they’re actually holding onto a Super Mario 64 remake for Switch 2? I don’t know if I’m ready.

The only game I ever predicted for a Direct was Perfect Dark coming to NSO for the N64.

Apparently today is International Sudoku Day, so I guess it’s time to find out if my brain still knows how to do one of these. 😂 Wish me luck. I have a feeling I’m going to need it. 🧩✏️

Crossing my fingers for this Nintendo Direct! Check out something I wish Nintendo would make! #Nintendo #Direct #Gaming

Calling my shot for tomorrow’s #Nintendo Direct: I think we’re getting The Legend of #Zelda: Twilight Princess on Nintendo Switch Online’s GameCube library. Not the HD remaster. The original GameCube version. I’m feeling pretty confident about this one. 👀

Apparently today, September 8, is International Literacy Day. As an English teacher, I feel like this is one of those random days I’m actually supposed to know about. 😂 So... go read something today. A book, an article, a comic, a video game dialogue box. It counts! 📚🎮

Yesterday my planner told me it was “Fight Procrastination Day.” Today it tells me it’s National Beer Lover’s Day AND that the world’s oldest brewery opened in 1040. I’m starting to think this planner really understands me. 😂🍺

Apparently today, September 6, is “Fight Procrastination Day.” I discovered this while reopening a planner I’ve been procrastinating on using for the last three years. I’m not sure if this is motivation or the planner personally attacking me. 😂

Street Fighter: The Movie: The Game. A game based on a movie based on a game. Peak ’90s logic.

Had a blast checking out GAMERGY Puerto Rico this weekend with my son and nephew. Their first time at an event like this, and I think it’s safe to say we’ll be back! Next stop: Puerto Rico Comic Con 2027. 😄

I've been loving Lanterns on HBO Max, so now I kinda want to go back and watch the Ryan Reynolds Green Lantern again, but the extended cut this time. I really don't remember it being as bad as people said. Let's see how this goes.

Watching this at 40 is hilarious. 😂 I don't remember all of these because some never made it to Puerto Rico, but I definitely remember toys like this. And now I'm watching like… yeah, this was clearly a terrible idea. How did they sell this stuff to kids?

Tell me that doesn’t sound like Link’s scream when he falls. #MegaMan youtu.be/LzLCTAy9WMI?...

I was so excited! It was a glitch! @bsky.app

What if Nintendo gave our old cartridges and discs a new life? Here’s my idea for bringing Nintendo’s physical legacy to the Switch 2.

Power went out, so I had to ditch the apartment... check out the beach. Love this island!
