#justbeatit, Star Fox. Star Fox is an amazing game! The fast-paced gameplay, branching paths, memorable characters, and excellent soundtrack still make it an enjoyable experience. A highly replayable classic that laid the foundation for the series. @polykillpodcast.bsky.social

Hey @polykillpodcast.bsky.social I #justbeatit Mega Man 6! After taking a break for several years I finally went back and finished off the NES hexalogy. This is probably the weakest on the system but is by no means a bad game, just a bit samey and on the easy side. Still a fun romp!

#JustBeatIt @polykillpodcast.bsky.social No.93 Starlight Legacy (NSW). A solid budget RPG with fun customizable combat, great QoL features (toggle encounters & EXP), excellent music, and non-linear progression. The story is forgettable, but the gameplay makes it an easy recommendation for JRPG fans.

#justbeatit Hell Is Us. I appreciated the world building in this dystopian action game and most of the puzzles. However the combat didn’t click with me so exploration, felt tedious. I dropped the difficulty to plow through the last 20% of the game @polykillpodcast.bsky.social

#justbeatit Tetris NES Trying to get a high score for the classic gaming podcast. Got higher in the past but in the meantime I’ll post this beat screenshot. All timer game for me, the NES one might still be one of the best variants, except it doesn’t have multiplayer. @polykillpodcast.bsky.social

#justbeatit Postmouse Student-made 3d platformer. Great looking but because of the realistic environments the platforming can be pretty jank. Also this game didn’t run well on my PC so guess it’s not well optimized? Apart from some frustrating sections still fun game! @polykillpodcast.bsky.social

#justbeatit Chance's Lucky Escape A point & click adventure for Playdate by @golosogames.bsky.social. I loved their GBC game which was a bit more involved. However this is a very competent little game which uses the playdates features and has nice music and graphics. @polykillpodcast.bsky.social

#JustBeatIt Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2. Co-oped this with @saladday.bsky.social and listen, would you like to play as a giant dude shooting aliens and stuff and sometimes hitting them with a chainsaw knife? Yeah? Well this is a game that does that. @polykillpodcast.bsky.social

100) Rhythm Heaven Groove Rhythm Heaven is finally back and it’s better than ever. The music stages are just as fun and addictive as the other games and they have some very unique premises. Now I just have to do the post game levels and the final remix. #justbeatit @polykillpodcast.bsky.social

#justbeatit Star Fox EX Played the original game with this romhack for some framerate optimizations. Didn’t die once on the easy path. Still after all these years this game is a vibe. Very nostalgic for me! @polykillpodcast.bsky.social

Hey @polykillpodcast.bsky.social I #justbeatit Horse Riding Classic. A first person horse riding adventure game, this one has you searching for apples atop your flying steed. I think this is what the kids call brain rot but it isn't terrible for what it is. Controls are pretty wonky though. Neigh.

#JustBeatIt again Slay the Spire. First win with the Defect. Really like this character. My deck was absolute trash early in the run but eventually got some nice synergy going. Mostly I keep posting the slay the Spire beats for Burger Champ. @polykillpodcast.bsky.social

Thanks to @wiedo.nl and his free games list exposing me to Daniel Mullins’ early work I moved Inscryption to the top of my must-play list. I went in blind, and #justbeatit. It was a real journey. I could write an essay on the game but won’t as you should play blind too. @polykillpodcast.bsky.social

Hey ohhhhh! #justbeatit on stream, What Remains of Edith Finch. A masterpiece of a game! My second play through reinforces this notion. The writing, mood, voice acting are all amazing. Play this if you haven’t yet! @polykillpodcast.bsky.social

Mina the Hollower kicks ass, I loved it. #justbeatit @polykillpodcast.bsky.social

@polykillpodcast.bsky.social With this game beaten I have finished this year’s PolyQuest challenge! Now it’s time to find more games to beat

You have to admire the high effort of FMV games like Mansion of Hidden Souls (Sega CD), even while you lament the lack of engaging gameplay. This roughly 7-room "mansion" is 97% proto-walking sim, > 2% adventure game, & < 1% puzzles, & I #JustBeatIt. Nothing to recommend @polykillpodcast.bsky.social

Strikers 1945 on ps1 gives you a run for your money. Gives you a state of mind that you are in for a easy time and quickly shuts that down with bullet hell mechanics. Never got past level 6 in my teenage years but now I can say I beat it. 5/5 awesome shmup. @polykillpodcast.bsky.social #justbeatit

Yakuza Kiwami 3 keeps the main story intact, mostly, but completely changes up the side content. If you aren't interested in game gear games, obscure Sega arcade games, and running an orphanage on the beach, then you may want to skip this one. I enjoyed it. #justbeatit @polykillpodcast.bsky.social
