Is this thing on? It’s been a while but it’s me again! I took a summer break to take care of my mom after heart surgery and now I’m back working this time at Mapbox as a Staff Engineer on the Location AI team working on MCP servers, agents and more. It’s been a lot of fun so far!

Traveling light only packing the essentials for vacation…

Finding the simple pleasures in life with things like playing bass…

One piece of advice to my younger self after wrapping up 19 years at Microsoft is to always be interviewing. You never know in this market when your number is called, and best to be fully prepared for what comes next. If nothing else you’ve made great connections and seen what’s out there.

I am really touched by the outpouring of love for Mari after her passing. She is my angel now and I miss her dearly but she is finally home. The flowers, cards and more have shown how much Mari touched the lives of others.

To give you an idea of how we sound, this is part of one of our songs, Keep Your Hands Out My Pocket. With me on bass of course

After the worst week of your life so far, sometimes you just need to take a break and jam with friends and make some amazing music together

Heartbroken today as Mari crossed the rainbow bridge today. She fought bravely against cancer and a bit chunk of me feels missing today. She was the best friend and companion I could have ever asked for.

Unsure of what this glowing orb in the sky is doing in Redmond while I’m in town…

I know I'm officially old when I asked if anyone was down with MCP, as I was writing an MCP server, and nobody replied, "Yeah, you know me"

May the fourth be with you

It’s been a tough year for Mari with her cancer but we have made it to her birthday! Some days are better than others and I can sincerely say Fuck Cancer! Here’s hoping to more days ahead with fingers crossed!

Been a rough week for Mari and me with my mom in the hospital and Mari going through new chemotherapy, but our journey continues with my best bass guitar tech I’ve ever had!

Poor puppy has such bad allergies this time of year which isn’t helped by her mast cell tumors

Never thought I’d be in several bands at my age as a bassist but here I am in addition to my job at Microsoft but getting to play like my bass hero Mike Watt with some post punk is a lot of fun!

Hard to believe it’s been a year since Mari was diagnosed with cancer with mast cell tumors and began treatment. I’m so lucky and grateful to everyone that she is still here and has a great quality of life! Fingers crossed that our journey continues!

Kind of a bummer we don’t celebrate Tłusty Czwartek here in America, but at least we have Pączki Day on Fat Tuesday

I stand with Ukraine Proud to live in a country (the Netherlands) that unconditionally supports Ukraine. Europe needs to re-arm, to support Ukraine and defend itself and democracy. Ukraine is the one defending Europe from Russian aggression. Ukraine should be part of the EU. Slava Ukraini 🇺🇦

Remembering my dad on what was his birthday, right after mine! I couldn’t have asked for a better dad and I miss him every day!

Another birthday is here but not feeling any older that’s for sure! But taking it easy with some bass and some record playing! At least it’s National Margarita Day so enjoy responsibly if you partake!

Finding ways to protect my peace as of late and a puppy and music never hurts!

Been a rough couple of weeks for Mari with her earlier rounds of chemo failing to produce results so off to a new round of therapy with a new treatment for her mast cell tumors. But nothing seems to affect her spirit as she is as happy as ever!

Absolutely with my father who was a geologist at the USGS. But even on weekends when my dad had to work we were in the computer lab playing Zork on the mainframes. Those were the days!

Meet Mari the neighborhood snow plow doing her best to clear driveways and sidewalks

Pretty much sums up my new year!

Did my best last night to uphold my Chinese food for Christmas after celebrating Polish Wigilia the night before with Peking Duck

Wishing everyone a very Mari and a very Merry Christmas where as you get older you appreciate socks, clothes and even books of Ukrainian poetry. It’s been quite a year and I hope for the best for you and your loved ones on this day

Apologies for the silence here as Mari has been dealing her with cancer surgery, so my days are filled with her and of course coding and playing bass. Fingers crossed for her that her cancer hasn’t further spread

Always fun to jam out on stage last night on bass! I’ve played guitar for over 20 years but somehow find bass a little bit more fun, don’t know why

Me being a dog bed for Mari with her cone of shame is hard work. Hopefully soon it comes off after her post surgery checkup

Poor Mari has been a bit depressed being in the cone of shame after her mast cell tumor removals so she deserves all the head rubs

Celebrating GibSunday properly with my Gibson Marauder. Sometimes the weirder the guitar the more fun it is, like the S-1 as well

I guess it’s bass playing time since GitHub seems to be down at the moment
