Javier Leal (Pixel Artist - Game Designer)

As many out there I'm trying to make my dream game with no resources in my limited spare time. For now all I can offer is to post my progress as I've been doing. I made a ko-fi in case anyone wants to help make this journey a tiny bit easier. ko-fi.com/pixel_javi Thanks :)

Made some minor adjustments to the main character portrait... Still not there but it's better... #gamedev #indiegame #pixelart

No big deal but I changed the gun... It felt lazy... I'm not making the game for a retro console so why was I limiting the color palette that way? I think it looks way better now.

After thinking about it for maybe too long, yesterday I finished at leat the first iteration of the game's in game HUD and dialogue box... what do you think? #gamedev #indiegame #pixelart

Somebody give me money! (😅) I promise I'm making a really cool game...

This is taking forever... It's coming along nicely tho... #gamedev #indiegame #pixelart

And I'm All Out of Bubblegum!

Time to get serious and start tidying up stuff... I need to take control of this before it gets too big to handle.

I can't stop!!! Monday is almost here and tomorrow I'll be like.. Damn I didn't get any rest during the weekend... HALP! #gamedev #indiegame #pixelart #aseprite

what are you all up to? How's your saturday coming along? I'm cleaning up some details and adding a few more things to an interior tileset. #ScreenshotSaturday #pixelart #gamedev

Toying around with an idea for an enemy before going to bed... Any feedback? #gamedev #indiegame #pixelart #aseprite

This is how tired I am... I need a rest... Have an awesome weekend everyone! #gamedev #pixelart #indiegame

I didn't do much of the game dev thing today... because of reasons... very... good... reasons...

BANG! BANG! BANG!

I think this algorithm doesn't like me that much :/

#mood Tomorrow I'll go back to finish the few animations I still need for the main character.

Still not there but I'm getting closer... #gamedev #pixelart #indiegame

Hi there! I’m a pixel artist... I do #pixelart #PortfolioDay

Today's progress... Not as much as I wanted but... Oh well... What do you think of this so far? Any feedback? Ideas? #gamedev #indiegame #pixelart

Today's piece... Hoping it doesn't turn into this week's piece.

Didn't do much today but I got to play around with some colors/palettes #gamedev #indiegame #pixelart

Didn't do much today but I got to play around with some colors/palettes #gamedev #indiegame #pixelart

I need to leave this alone for now and focus on other stuff so it stays like this until further notice... I'm still open to feedback if you have any :) #gamedev #indiegame #pixelart

Improving my map based on some of the feedback I've received from my last post :)

Alright alright... I kind of knew where I was going with this... It's not final... I could use some feedback... Shoot. #gamedev #indiegame #pixelart

Still not sure where I'm going with this... It's done for now tho...

Where am I going with this? I've no idea... Of course.

I'm just here putting some ugly faces to some trees cause I think I might have an idea for the lore/mythology I'm slowly putting together for this project...

Yeah... That's not gonna work... #pixelart #gamedev #indiegame

Alright.. another tileset ready for a test ride... Let's see how this all works together #pixelart #gamedev #indiegame

So I want to animate the mist / fog by hand so it looks just the way I pictured it in my head... How does this look? It will also have some parallax / horizontal moving... #gamedev #indiegame #pixelart

Since my previous posts got some love I guess this one will do pretty fine too :) #gamedev #indiegame #pixelart

I've been painting stones all day long... Still some more to do... #pixelart #gamedev #indiegame

Another background in the works... Slowly making progress towards something :) #indiegame #gamedev #pixelart

Not much but it should count as a #screenshotsaturday... #gamedev #pixelart

How is it that I don't see some mistakes on my art until i post it on social media? At this point it's going to become a part of my process...

Couple of statues... #indiegame #gamedev #pixelart

Another mockup fresh off the oven.. Let's see where this project takes me... #indiegame #gamedev #pixelart

Random WIP post #indiegame #gamedev #pixelart

Veeeeery early WIP... #indiegame #gamedev #pixelart

I'm going for a walk... #indiegame #gamedev #pixelart

I need to start posting my work on social media again so here's something I've been cooking... More coming soon :) #indiegame #pixelart

I'm using some time during weekends to work on a personal project :) Still not sure where I'm going with this but I'll get there at some point. #gamedev #pixelart #gameart

I'm cooking... Doing some personal art/stuff on my day off :) #pixelart #gameart #gameartist

WIP

WIP photo of my WHF desk... It's really close to being exactly how I want it... It just need a few more cables, joysticks and a lot of nerd stuff lying around.

New PVM... Who dis?

I really like how this background looks... I might tweak the color palette at some point tho... #gamedev #indiegame #retrogaming #pixelart
