Is it too much to ask for a career where I can just freely tinker. Fixing watches, making boots and reading books. I'd grow a beard and buy a monocle. Shelter a young traveler on the run from evil pursuers. Bestow ancient wisdom before sacrificing myself to cover their escape. A simple life.

As a Canadian travelling in the US. You guys need to figure out payments. The whole multiple receipts, take the card, sign the thing, math the tip with a pen. Insane.

I love my fiance and can't wait to marry her , but she insists that setting the clock on the car 10 minutes fast is the greatest 'life hack' of all time and I hate it.

I thought I bricked my laptop after a coffee incident last night. Popped open the back today and disconnected the internal battery. Cycled the power for 60 seconds & waited. Plugged everything back in and we're booting like nothing ever happened. I love ThinkPads.

Protip! When committing changes from your Aspire project make sure you're in the solution directory. I mindlessly added and committed my changes without realizing I was just in the AppHost project. Didn't realize what happened until after some reckless reset --hards 😕

Trying to get back/start to post here on Bluesky. My thought today is that playing fantasy football after 30 is painful. My algorithm is filled back up with player rankings and the sentiment is that anyone over 30 is a decrepit pile of garbage ... 😅

A few years ago I bought a cheap ThinkPad online and installed Linux. I've learned so much and gained such an appreciation for computers and software because of that decision.

I wanted to install .NET 9, but 20.04 isn't supported. Now I'm updating the distro to 24.04 and getting a crash course on package repositories, keyrings, snapshots, and file backups. Having a blast.

Days are long, but the .NET release cycles are short ... I swear 8 just came out.

I was finally able to rebook my Monday flight from Pearson for tomorrow night. The poor customer representative I was able to get through to sounded like he'd been awake for days.

For Maths fans, 2025 is a square. 45² = 45 x 45 = 2025 Also, 9² x 5² = 2025 40² + 20² + 5² = 2025 My favourite? 1³+2³+3³+4³+5³+6³+7³+8³+9³ = 2025 #Mathematics #teaching #education

This is the first spot I've been at where the whole team takes the week of Christmas off. Years of food service, retail, and front line support where working over the holidays was my normal. I'm very grateful, but it's hard to truly disconnect.

I'm in a weird limbo where Neovim & Tmux make me feel like a superhero. But JetBrains made Rider and WebStorm free for personal use. There must be an alternate universe where Sisyphus had no rock and just configured development environments while writing no actual code.

You are up to date.
