The 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly opened with clashing worldviews: one arguing for shared climate policy, protecting forests and regulating AI. The other boasted climate denial, celebrated fossil fuel expansion and attacked global climate regulation.

Inside Climate News shared its findings—including that lawsuits against the worst polluters have "fallen off a cliff" during Trump 2.0—with the EPA, @peteraldhous.com reports. The agency asked for a deadline extension to comment, then ultimately stopped responding to emails.
Today’s EPA seems preoccupied with slapping public water systems on the wrist for failing to complete inventories of their lead water pipes. Notorious industrial polluters, meanwhile, are often getting a free pass.
