Started Extraordinary Attorney Minami. I hope they can bring /some/ Japan specific cases to the show. So far it is adhering so strictly to the original that is basically the same show, but with different actors. So, I guess like watching the touring company.

Saw 1st episode of Extraordinary Attorney Minami. It was exactly the same as the Korean version. And it looks like the 2nd episode will be the same as well. I am hoping some of the future cases will be more Japanese-specific.

🚨 TEXAS PEEPS, CHECK YOUR VOTER REGISTRATION. A DPS screwup left voter registration applications sitting unprocessed for months. The deadline to register is October 5. Don’t find out at the ballot box that you’re not registered. CHECK IT NOW. www.nbcnews.com/politics/202...

Citi raised my APR again. It isn't based on anything I've done with them. I've kept up. It's based on my credit score. My behavior hasn't changed except that I'm paying them hundreds in interest. It's bullshit is what it is.

And, as @rahaeli.bsky.social implies earlier in this same thread, the standard of proof for not voting for someone as senator can (and should?) be higher than "maybe raped someone."

I don't need to be convinced beyond a reasonable doubt to believe the evidence (because again, testimony is evidence) that's been presented to us. I don't need to see a SAFE kit analysis to decide I believe that Graham Platner raped his then-girlfriend, and it wouldn't prove anything extra anyway.

Remember this scene the next time a corporate reporter tries to insist that a rural diner full of white men in their 60s is somehow a more authentically "American" place, somehow more representative of who we are as a nation.

KNICKS IN FIVE KNICKS PRIDE BROOKLYN

I'm unexpectedly outside among the greenery, just sitting in a chair and it occurred to me that I don't know how to just *be* outside anymore. But then I remembered I was like this in my 20s, too, so whew.

When a federal agency tasked with protecting all Americans decides to mandate a specific religious worldview, it ceases to protect democracy and begins to threaten it.

I think I might have pneumonia. I got a cold last month. And I got better except I've had a cough ever since. When I was in urgent care for something else, I asked about it and they said allergies. Last week, my doctor said to take Mucinex. Now it sounds like I've got crackles in my chest.

"Benches are where optimistic visions of civic life meet reality. To remove them, or to curate who gets to sit, is to abandon the work of defining a civic ideal and determining, together, how to live up to it." NEW: Why benches are slowly disappearing from public spaces — and why we need them back:

placesjournal.orgThe Disappearance of the Public BenchBenches are microcosms of an expansive debate about who belongs in urban public spaces. When they are removed or made uninviting, we lose more than just a place to rest.

I may have to stop taking Lyft. Don't tell me you'll get me somewhere before 8 if you can't get me there until 8:15. It's not like you don't know what traffic is.

Okay #UberEats, you almost got me. You said I had $40 in Uber Eats money only and half of it expired today. Let's have some pizza. Except when I went to pay, it says I have no Uber cash at all. Unless I go into my account and then it is still there. Just no way to use it. And half an hour later,

I now only have $20 Uber cash that can only be used on UberEats that still won't show up when I check out. Good job, I'll be eating a wholesome meal I make at home and have still never ordered from UberEats.

For those who haven't heard, I finally got a job earlier this year. Which is awesome. And I'm grateful. But this is the first time in this century that I've worked for a place that wants me to come in while I'm sick. I just started working. I have no sick days. I have been masked, but

A math problem for the #adhd crowd: If you leave in the morning with a coat, a bag, and a backpack, decide to go back inside to put on another layer, put down the bag, the backpack, and the coat to put on the extra layer, what are the odds that you will forget the bag when you leave?

Whenever you ask a government official or a politician something and they say they don’t know or haven’t heard, the VERY NEXT QUESTION should be, “Well, now that you know about it, what are you going to do about it?” Follow up! Dig deeper! Push back! Don’t let them dodge!

2nd day of the new job. Occupational safety training. The person leading it was using the many accidents on the set of The Wizard of Oz as examples but she referred to it as "a movie from the 1950s I think" and I feel like that should somehow be a reportable offense.

In the grand scheme of things, it seems relatively insignificant what with everything else going on, but after a very long time, I finally got a job and it starts in half an hour. #SomeGoodNews

Not at all surprised to learn that Bad Bunny has a historical adviser. His halftime show was a reminder that our history and culture are deeply intertwined with the rest of the western hemisphere. We should think of his performance as part of #America250. #SuperBowl news.wisc.edu/pop-star-bad...

It took 3 minutes of watching the NBC "Olympics pening ceremony" before getting so annoyed I want to turn it off. Why are we talking about the Super Bowl?

Republican politicians do anything terrible & 1) a few Democrats vote with them. Response: Why didn't the Democrats do anything? 2) some Democrats push back. Response: This is what happens when you don't deny Israel's right to exist. 3) Democrats push back but nothing changes. Response...

I don't want to be politically active. I really don't. And I don't know how much this helps. But I called all the people who are supposed to represent me to let them know that if they let this go through, I'm simply not voting for them again. At all. The app 5Calls streamlines the calling process.

So the House is going to vote TOMORROW on the DHS funding bill that includes funding for ICE. There's a real chance we can get Dems to vote NO on any bill with ICE funding to sink it. Once it goes to the Senate we likely lose this chance. 24 hours. Go. www.fightforthefuture.org/actions/no-f...

I'm looking for witnesses/victims of DHS retaliating against people who were recording their agents (ICE, Border Patrol, FPS, etc.) in Southern California. This is for LA Press Club v. Noem case, but victim does NOT need to be press/journalist. Everyone has right to record. We're fighting for all.

If you are: -a leftist -who does not like the DNC -and lives in a red district -that is rural or suburban I encourage you to check out your local Dems and maybe get involved. Red districts are often ignored by national Dems; you may have more influence to push left locally than you think.
