Harry Kane is the first Bayern Munich player to win the Ballon d'Or since Karl-Heinz Rummenigge in 1981. This 45-year gap is the longest between a club having a player win the award, eclipsing the 41 years Real Madrid went from Alfredo Di Stéfano in 1959 to Luís Figo in 2000.

Bolsonaro's loss is not just a loss for Bolsonaro. It's a loss for Trump. For Musk. For Milei. For Netanyahu. For Farage. For Meta and Zuckerberg. For the meat barons, the fossil fuel corporations, and the rest of the neocolonial looters. And it is a massive win for humanity and the living planet.

This is objectively very very funny

Vance: "Remember in 2022, when Russia invaded Ukraine and gas prices skyrocketed. They skyrocketed, by the way, far higher than they are today...They skyrocket every time some tin pot dictator decides to throw a tantrum."

Continuing to learn Bouzouki by working out songs I think sound cool on the instrument. Here's The Stones and Paint it Black.

“How much time do you think this defense secretary spends looking in the mirror in the morning? These are not serious people” — Obama’s audience in Ohio is hanging on every word as he skewers Trump and Hegseth

I've just walked the dogs and it was a dreadful 20 minutes. For about 90 seconds, it's the heaviest rain I've ever been in. The dogs were running in circles with their bums near the floor because it hurt.

I'm in a WhatsApp group for a mate's 50th birthday next year and we're deciding where to go. The initial shortlist has been amended to places that are a fucking nightmare to get to for me. One is an island that is only accessible by speedboat. FFS.

Mrs P forgot she had bought Daniel Kitson tickets for us tonight and arranged to go for dinner with a mate. I'm poorly and also forgot and not sure I can be arsed. Thankfully, Kitson is also poorly so he postponed it and reminded us at the same time.

Back from Spain but the children flat out refused one more walk of the daft Spaniards for me. Nice to see them anyway. He was eating his tea when we got back so he couldn't give 2 shites.

Ryanair texting me for the last 2 day to get to the airport at least 3 hours before because of the fingerprint bollocks. We've done that but can't check in until 2 hours before. Knobheads.

A footnote: We didn't do fingerprints on the way in and we haven't done them on the way out. Also, it was only the bag drop that wasn't open and we weren't dropping bags off. I wouldn't have seen yellow man otherwise.

Last stroll about and a wanky breakfast that cost more than half of the big dinner last night. Could have done with a bit more rocket on mine.

Terry and Brian from East 17 have had a tough few years but at least they've managed to reunite in Catalonia.

We've seen the old lad several times over the last few days. He had a hoodie on saying "I don't need sex. My government fucks me every day." Mrs P thought it was a left wing statement but I said he's probably on Facebook too much.

This went fabulously so far. 🙄 They gave us an English menu. The waitress didn't speak English. I ordered by pointing and talking loud and slowly. Our bottle of Cava was 2 glasses. Our 2 tapas of scallops turned up as 2 massive plates of squid. The oxtail croquettes were sensational.

The evening mooch has started well. Tomato bread and a sausage table followed by snails. Obviously a couple of Vermuts to go with. The snails were sensational.

Right then. On with the eating and drinking day. Braves with scallop and squid croquetes. The squid ones with ink were fantastic.

She's at it again. We got about a quarter of the way around the cathedral and had to go out for a piss. She'll need another one by the time we get back up those stairs.

The first quarter is magnificent though. Biggest gothic nave in the world. Second biggest of any nave after St Peter's in Rome.

We found a toilet when we went back in. FFS. Anyway, it was smashing. Those Catholics love their gold. And a 20ft tapestry to finish off.

The rain has gone away but the rivers come up a bit and gone brown. Our usual route took us through the start and finish of a 10k and right into a drumming band. Anyway, normal service has resumed.

We've been out for Pintxos again tonight and then a few drinks. It doesn't fall mainly on the plane, lads, and I'm sad to say we took cover in an Irish pub. Decent beer though.

Sitting outside a Vermuteria. The food isn't so appealing but the drinks are lovely. Mrs P had the Ysaguirre Reserva and I went for the okey-dokey at the bottom.both very rich and slightly sweet.
