90.1% of BC's health science professionals have voted in favour of taking job action in support of efforts to negotiate a fair contract. Health science professionals are represented by HSA, HEU, BCGEU, PEA, and CUPE. The HSPBA will return to bargaining in January with these results in hand.

“There is still work to be done,” said Melissa Moroz. “The issues that remain at our bargaining table include establishing a classification system that values professional experience, improving retention and recruitment, and ensuring fair compensation for emergency-related work.”

“Our members have shown incredible resolve,” said Melissa Moroz, Executive Director of the PEA. “By standing together for the value of their work and the services they provide to British Columbians, they have strengthened the collective voice of public service professionals across the province.”

“This fight is not ours alone,” said Melissa Moroz, Executive Director of the PEA. “Today we stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the BCGEU. Our coordinated picket lines show our two unions are united and that it’s time for the government to invest in the public service.” Press release: bit.ly/3I0ju6z

Happy Labour Day! If you are in Victoria, come visit us at the PEA booth. Thanks to the Victoria Labour Council for organizing this great event ✊

Today the PEA’s Government License Professionals, who work in the BC Public Service, voted to take job action. We have issued 72-hour strike notice and are working closely with the BCGEU, who have also voted in favour of strike action and have served their own strike notice.

“Until the government makes fair compensation a priority, vacancies will remain unfilled, and more professionals will leave,” said Melissa Moroz, Executive Director of the PEA and lead negotiator. “Now is the time for the government to invest in the people who uphold the public service.”

“The government talks about standing strong for BC but when it comes to investing in the very professionals who make that possible, they refuse to pay fair wages,” said Melissa Moroz, Executive Director of the PEA and lead negotiator. pea.org/news-program...
