Food banks and pantries are lifelines for millions of people—and demand is rising. This season, we’re asking our community to help fill shelves with foods that nourish 💚 Ways to get involved: • Donate items • Share this post • Reply with a photo of your donation! www.pcrm.org/news/plantba...

In support of Breast Cancer Awareness month, our cancer resources and Let’s Beat Breast Cancer campaign apparel are discounted throughout October. Learn how a plant-based diet can help fight and lower cancer risk through PCRM’s literature, books, and kits. Visit PCRM.org/Shop to find resources.

The Physicians Committee mourns the passing of artist and longtime supporter Peter Max, who died at age 88. His vibrant art reflected a deep belief in possibility, peace, and a brighter future, and his generosity carried that vision into action. You will be deeply missed.

🌎 Food tells a story. For Hispanic Heritage Month, seven of our Food for Life instructors from across Latin America are sharing the foods, histories, and traditions that have shaped their cultures for generations. Explore their stories: PCRM.org/HHM

The Physicians Committee is hosting two inspiring evenings in California this October. Oct. 10 near San Francisco at Moose Mountain Vineyard in San Martin. Oct. 11 near Los Angeles in Encino. Join us for great food, meaningful community, and updates on our work. PCRM.org/events/impact

The future of science doesn't have to rely on animal testing. New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) use human-relevant technologies to study disease and evaluate drug safety, helping build research that is more predictive, more efficient, and free from harming animals.

Modern science doesn't have to rely on animal testing. Computational toxicology uses AI and computer modeling to predict how drugs and chemicals interact with the human body, helping build a safety assessment framework that is more predictive, more efficient, and free from animal harm.

Better science starts with human biology. Watch biomedical scientist Dr. Jon McCord explain how organ-on-a-chip technology is helping shape the future of medicine and advancing research that is more predictive, more efficient, and free from harming animals.

After six years of work by the PCRM, our supporters, physicians, and Colorado legislators, the University of Colorado Anschutz medical center replaced live animals with modern medical simulators. Visit PCRM.org/TakeAction to urge other institutions to replace animals in medical training.

Scientists have developed a wireless sensor that monitors lab-grown human heart models beating in real time. The technology allows researchers to test drugs directly on human tissue, offering a more accurate and personalized approach than animal experiments. Learn more: www.pcrm.org/news/innovat...

Today we're celebrating a major victory! Thanks to years of work by the Physicians Committee, our supporters, physicians, and Colorado legislators, the University of Colorado Anschutz has stopped killing animals to train surgeons. Help us keep this momentum going: act.pcrm.org/3Wx6Pa0NjU6B...

Big news for human-based science: The NIH just launched ORIVA, a new office dedicated to advancing human-based, nonanimal research. This is a huge step forward for science that better reflects human biology and improves patient outcomes. 🔬 Read more: www.pcrm.org/news/news-re... #NIH

Scientists brought the future of research and testing to Capitol Hill last week. Catharine Krebs and Emily Anderson joined world-class researchers to discuss organs-on-chips, organoids, and other human-based technologies that can improve research and reduce animal testing.

Omega-3s support heart and brain health—and you don’t need fish to get them. Plant foods like chia seeds, walnuts, flaxseed, and hemp seeds are rich in omega-3 fatty acids. Your body can naturally convert plant-derived ALA into DHA and EPA. Learn more: www.pcrm.org/good-nutriti...
