Ever struggle to communicate why we have just made a mistake approving Jackdaw? www.upliftuk.org/post/jackdaw...
@tessakhan.bsky.social fantastic on channel 4 news. Other guy, like something from prehistoric times. Save us.

@tessakhan.bsky.social Fantastic on channel 4 news. At last someone nails why Jackdaw is anything but pragmatic and Rosebank would be an abomination

Not bombshells. Entirely on brand “appalling behaviour” and “extreme racism” from an appalling, extreme and racist party, led by an appalling, extreme and racist man. The apples are all rotten because the tree is. www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/poli...

"Insulating Britain’s homes and investing in heat pumps would do more to cut the cost of living, create jobs and boost the UK’s economy than drilling for new oil, research suggests."

Terrific piece by @pilitaclark.bsky.social on what to do about Britain's broken energy system, making strong case for more central planning and state control to reduce cost of capital to drive. Agree that Dieter Helm seems to have sadly drifted off the reservation... www.ft.com/content/2d99...
Grim analysis of Israel elections. Not just netanyahu against more reasonable groups - not at all. www.theguardian.com/world/2026/o...
@bestforbritain.org say that "It's not just a case of a few bad apples. This is a systemic vetting failure by Reform UK" Certainly not a few bad apples Certainly systemic But is it just a vetting failure? Surely these ppl represent who Reform are, who they want, why they exist & who they attract?

Disgusting bunch of heathens...biggar, marshall et al Nice to be able to support our normal reasonable and decent traditional church rather than these right wing, selfish, nasty a'holes www.theguardian.com/world/2026/o...

When Ukraine destroys Russian data centers, hoards of aggressive right-wing bots disappear & the internet becomes friendlier. So much of politics is driven by the internet & so much of the internet is driven by Russians who want to hurt us. Shouldn’t we do something about that, given that we know it
BadEnoch's pledge to further destroy all and any Tory green credentials remaining. Unreal and surely unelectable www.theguardian.com/politics/202...
Just extraordinary. Yes, so many extraordinary trump stories. Horror stories. But just the lunacy of this. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026...
Grim. The rise of selfish politics. As is BadEnoch's ban on supporters of #netzero in the Tory party. And the fact that most hearing lots about the Tory conference will have forgotten about her blood tryst on NetZero and ECHR human rights. www.theguardian.com/world/2026/o...

What’s top story today on Irkutsk TV? Not the death of a Russian plague researcher. I watch the local TV news bulletin and take a look at today’s Russian newspapers. #ReadingRussia

Guys and gals you have until 30th October to get your vote in It seems to be a bit under covered this year and that would be a worry because the Tufton Street lot are working on the basis that people can be worn down Show them your metal!
Oh blimey, here we go again. Time to vote in the National Trust AGM to keep so-called 'Restore Trust' off the council. Use the quick vote to ensure we don't split the anti-Restore vote. Or.... 1/2 www.nationaltrust.org.uk/who-we-are/a...
Britain still has a long way to go Reluctant self interest certainly not enough to convince Europe or survive a UK campaign to rejoin. Someone needs to start to sell the real broadband benefits, including the euro
This is all very nice on Burnham's opening the door a little on EU matters, but I've been having conversations in Brussels about the UK's choices since at least 2023 and nothing has basically changed since then. www.ft.com/content/3d43...
Dead sitter. No 3rd runway. Flying levy, yes. Make trains always cheaper. Complete HS2 to get capacity. Stop internal flights. Find growth from sustainable development, rather than have to prioritise flying into the future, to make sense of new expensive runway. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Flying is officially on course to account for *almost all* the UK's carbon dioxide emissions by 2050. Heathrow expansion alone would cause more carbon emissions by 2054 than *any other sector of the economy*. So why is it being contemplated? My column. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
On this Peter Oborne column in @bylinetimes.bsky.social September issue, I can certainly 100% agree. The World Tonight and the Midnight news cut by BBC News does feel like a bereavement. Comments on Rajan, and Mishal Hussain - yes, quite right. BBC, beloved, but heading in the wrong direction.
Just AI and palantir again. Sad also to hear about Watson and the Observer. broligarchy.substack.com/p/meet-the-r...
Thanks to dependable Macron...not afraid to speak wfaf has to get said. Some positives here, but still difficult to bring the middle powers together to action. The US is gone. Europe and other middle powers need to move decisively as one right now. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Rebuilding our relationship with the EU “is the cheapest way to boost the economy, the fastest way to unite Europe in the face of security threats and the best way to get leverage on a global system that no longer has an American anchor.” So obvious it hurts. www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/poli...

⚠️ Brexit has left us poorer and more isolated on the world stage. 💪 Burnham must go for EU membership. Not only will it deliver £92bn to our economy but will restore our standing in the world.

So much of the right these days have a massive patriotism problem. This guy: - is a tax exile (left long before this govt) - hates his own country while complaining he doesn’t get big enough subsidies from it - laments the manufacturing hit from a Brexit he supported www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Tells us all we need to know about Kraft and his family. And that this whole Sheeran story is 'real'
Not only did I meet Robert Kraft, I worked for him. His kid Jonathan asked me to “remove the black music” from my gameday playlist in ‘94 & I refused so they fired me. I was the cheerleader director at the time. I sued them for wrongful termination and won. So yes, I know that motherfucker.
Maybe shits like Kraft will be more nervous about throwing their nasty views about in future? Let's hope so. Let's also hope that this ludicrous anti-semitic argument against any protest has peaked. Enough of it. It's self defeating. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
