This went on for the rest of the full hour, at which point the BBC apologised for having to go to the weather and urged viewers to follow continuing live coverage on iPlayer. Forty-one minutes of unfiltered, unchallenged propaganda by a far right party with 8 MPs, now third in the polls. Discuss.
BBC News just interrupted its coverage to go, live, to Nigel Farage - a man with no contitutional standing in our setup - responding to the budget - a document which nobody has seen yet. WHY

Thought I'd noticed some recent price rises in the shops. Whether or not it helps, at least we know on this occasion the specific identity of the US President to blame. www.theguardian.com/business/202...

Glad to see that, like me, like Nigel Farage wants to abolish the House of Lords! @pickardje.bsky.social
Nigel Farage, 62, on Brussels: "Do we want a bunch of old men who we can't vote for, can't get rid of in Brussels, making the big decisions?" (the average age of an MEP is 50)

Obviously this is outrageous in terms of partiality. But it's also yet another argument against rolling news. Rolling news has *so much* time to fill. Things like this must be a godsend for producers but it's really unhealthy for our discourse. If the BBC has to make cuts, it should bin News 24.

Ten years on, the Brexiters plan to leave the EU and cosy up with the US looks even more disastrous. That their Brexit was boosted by Putin makes it even more historically catastrophic. We mustn’t forget the people who did this or let them near power again bylinetimes.com/2026/06/23/w...

Just heard Hunt on the radio saying Labour needs to "put the economics before the politics" in the Budget. The bloke who created an unaffordable cut in National Insurance prior to the election, which he knew the Tories would lose. Utter charlatan.
The reinvention of Jeremy Hunt as a sage and elder statesman overlooks his role as a participant in the creation of the current shitshow. #BBCLauraK

'I backed Remain, but for purely tribal reasons I will forever back Brexit, and try to boost my credentials as a Brexit supporter by reminding people of my Remain vote.'
Strange how widespread the framing of "do we want to talk about this again?" is on the Right Might buffer debate kicking off, but leaves them stranded once it does www.thetimes.com/article/6154...

More to come on this, but those Labour MPs opposing talking about freedom of movement need to be aware that they are also condemning UK manufacturing to more barriers and probably further decline. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

Fascinating Jeremy, now tell us about the time you cut national insurance twice as an electoral game despite knowing we couldn't afford it.

Richard Tice of Reform describes Burnham as "totally out of touch with British voters". Our data suggests Labour voters v strongly prefer Burnham's view to Tice's (as do the public more narrowly). Reform voters are more with Tice - with a surprisingly large minority supporting the single market

This as ridiculous as the censoring of the Strictly contestants t-shirt. Funny that they can mandate the wearing of poppies and couldn’t manage to edit out the Shell logo when Energy Secretary Miatta Fahnbulleh as interviewed www.leicester.news/bbc-edits-ou...

A shout out to Citizens Advice. They send workers at our foodbank every week, where they offer far more than sticking plaster solutions. Clients leave looking years younger than when they arrive.

Selling out Britain’s future goes back to Thatcher. Had we invested oil/gas revenues we’d have a fund worth £1 trillion now. Selling off assets at less than they were worth (think council houses/utilities) + spending not investing the proceeds trashed the UK’s balance sheet

What frankly is the point of government publishing this sort of statement on trade negotiations with absolutely no useful content? Compulsive secrecy to the point of parody. For no good reason whatsoever. www.gov.uk/government/n...

“The OBR’s estimate of the impact of migration on the fiscal forecast makes for sobering reading. It estimates that if net migration is 200,000 a year lower than its central forecast - almost certainly the case - then borrowing will be £19.9 billion higher in 2028-29.
