Im rarely negative online and I try to be particularly neutral broadly. But one of the worst people I know to offer for mayor was rejected by their community tonight They parachuted into a community, they aren't particularly bright, they didn't have very good ideas. Honestly? Democracy works.

Chelsea Dagger just came on in the bar. Goal scored by number 88 There are things I will never emotionally recover from, a couple specific breakups, losing a couple of dear friends over the years, the 2013 bc election and of course, 2011. #neverforget

I think of Ujjal Dosanjh's failed BC NDP premiership the same way I think of Mark Messier's failed Vancouver Canucks captaincy. Factually true, but brief and best forgotten. #bcpoli

A friend here in #YYJ just got a bike for the first time in his adult life because he moved slightly further out from downtown. I think he's truly one of us now. He's become a Victoria cyclist.

Ok but what about KLF

I've spent a lot of years studying a lot of collapses, and the truth of the matter is that they're always mundane: mild climatic shifts that reduce crop yields, a dumbass in power who makes some terrible decisions, neglecting things that obviously matter but the will to fix them can't be summoned.

My only 9/11 thought, as with most, is the moment I learned. Walking to the shower in the morning, mom told me our cat had been hit by a car and killed. As I got to the bathroom I remember hearing my sister, flipping channels on the tv say, in a weird tone, "mom, I think something happened."

Lucille Ball--actress, comedian, producer & film-studio executiver--died #OTD in 1989. In 1962, she bought out Desi Arnaz's interest in Desilu Productions & became the 1st woman to own & run a major TV studio. Desilu produced many popular TV series including Mission: Impossible & #StarTrek. #legend

Without saying your age, what is your favorite movie that came out when you were 20 years old? A lot of movies I've seen subsequently that I like, but I don't think I saw a lot of movies that year. I don't think this one holds up as well, but it's still great. (honourable mentions in thread)

These snivelling cowards. Canadians will not forget that America treated Putin's Russia like its best friend and us like an enemy. Ever.

Seattle’s infill boom from 2000 to 2020 “eliminated about 1 million tons of potential greenhouse gas emissions basically for free… this category of climate action has been better than a free lunch. It’s been a lunch the region got paid to eat.”

ggwash.orgInfill housing delayed is climate action deniedUrbanites have smaller carbon footprints than our suburban neighbors. That isn’t just something to feel smug about – it’s a call to action to embrace more infill housing in cities.

This is the best summary of the parties in the Vancouver civic election I've seen. And I will say, the only thing that houses people is housing.

this is my latest very scientific chart

I obviously advocated for the most perfect movie ever made. We've lost so much of the cast, Sean Connery, James Earl Jones, Fred Thomson, Richard Jordan, Joss Ackland, and of course Sam Neill. And if you ignore a couple of them, they were all wonderful people!

I am incredibly excited for this. Late career nic cage has been an utter delight from renfield to spider noir and the incredible weight of massive talent.

Running very low on the last of my supply and maybe one day, possibly November 2028, I'll be able to restock. For now? Jeez, I'm not buying anything from that country.

Love that Liev Schreiber, one of my favourite actors (mostly because of Goon), has excellent values and puts his time into important causes.

“Missile defense is essential. America used to provide that. Hopefully, we can get that program going again.” Our ambassador Liev Schreiber came to Kyiv, witnessing the aftermath of a russian attack: destroyed buildings and innocent victims. His conclusion speaks volumes.

Going to relive my youth today at a Bif Naked concert. I also regaled my partner with stories of the three or four times I've seen her in concert before. She was riveted, or at least pretended to pay attention. Snow Jam 2002 was a real formative experience for me!

The click bait article has it wrong (shocking!) The right answer:"I have been, and always shall be, your friend." One of my best high school friends said it in his eulogy of our friend, and I'll never forget it. At its core, Trek is about friendship. www.polygon.com/best-star-tr...
