Sick of pretending chicken breasts are enjoyable. Absolutely the worst part of the chicken. I won’t be gaslit any longer.

Voting is a right, and whether or not people choose to exercise that right is ultimately up to them. But bragging about not voting is certified loser behavior. Anytime you make what you *don’t* do your whole personality, you’re behaving like a loser. And you don’t have to.

If I am wrong and hell is indeed a place of eternal conscious torment, JD Vance is for sure going there with gasoline drawls on

If you’re in the Triangle area and like dope books and/or dope people, come to this book talk at Southeast Raleigh Table on November 11. All the cool kids are gonna be there!

“Standing with the Prince of Peace… Stop spending money blowing people up. Spend more money feeding, sheltering, educating, and healing people. May it be so 🤲🏾” ~ @pastortrey05.com

The look of confused delight & curiosity that occurs every single time I’m out in the community and I tell people what institution I’m with when they ask is always gonna be hilarious to me.

LESS THAN HALF A SCARAMUCCI?!?!

I’m a little late, but happy book release, @pastortrey05.com! #Booksky #LoveIsGoodReligion #WellReadBlackGirl

My faith would probably be a lil easier if I believed in hell as a place of eternal conscious torment.

After service this morning, folks in my congregation surprised me with a book launch celebration, and I am ALWAYS filled with wonder at the ways that people choose to love out loud 🥹

I wish I was as good at anything as Malachi Toney is at getting open.

Each time someone reaches out to me to tell them how 𝑳𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝑰𝒔 𝑮𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝑹𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒊𝒐𝒏 has landed with them, I get a little emotional. I don’t really take myself that seriously, so it’s always humbling to be reminded that some of my words help people see God and themselves a bit more clearly 🥹

STOP THE COUNT, I SAID!!!!

STOP THE COUNT!!!!

This is a special Treyslation Tuesday because it’s also the official launch day for 𝑳𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝑰𝒔 𝑮𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝑹𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒊𝒐𝒏! Because you are beloved, God speaks your language too. Today is a great day to overcome evil with good 🙏🏾

This is not a drill! 𝑳𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝑰𝒔 𝑮𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝑹𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒊𝒐𝒏 is now available wherever books are sold!!! www.lakedrivebooks.com/books/love-i...

Good morning, beloved. Sometimes, we’ll struggle. But no one needs to get used to struggling alone. Today is a great day to overcome evil with good.

Really 2 days away from dropping my second title 🥹

Did I tell y’all the audiobook is available for preorder now too? Cuz it is. a.co/d/01NWByyS And that you can listen to a sample now? Cuz you can. www.pastortrey05.com/ligraudiosam...

One of the reasons I stand as strongly against Penal Substitutionary Atonement as I do is because the gulf between believing that God thinks every sinner deserves to be tortured to death and canonizing shock jocks does not exist. When your god is a jerk, jerks look godly.

Antitheists found me on Instagram. Well that was fun while it lasted.

Back in July, I preached on the audacity of hope… and this is how that message began.

“The wrath of God is not directed at the object of God’s love. The wrath of God is directed at the obstacles-the hierarchies, systems, bigotries that stand between us and the wholeness that God has created us for.” Preorder 𝑳𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝑰𝒔 𝑮𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝑹𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒊𝒐𝒏 wherever books are sold or at pastortrey05.com/books

You do not owe unserious strangers on the internet serious engagement on their terms.

Today is a great day to overcome evil with Good. Start with intention.

Wholeness is not a zero sum game. I do not lose any part of my wholeness when you become more whole. In fact, we were all designed to be whole. Preorder 𝑳𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝑰𝒔 𝑮𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝑹𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒊𝒐𝒏 at pastortrey05.com/books

Important piece from @pastortrey05.com

The lynch mob is not the only threat we face. It is not the only farmer of strange fruit.

It’s wonderful to see someone live a life so well that, when their time to go comes, we all feel it in the same, uncomplicated place. Today is a great day to overcome evil with good. And Dolly Parton strove to do exactly that.

Nah, yo! This lady ain’t got no business bein dead!

God’s love is revealed in salvation, not the threat of condemnation. When we sit with the love of God, we can more thoroughly appreciate the sin we’ve been liberated from. 𝑳𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝑰𝒔 𝑮𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝑹𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒊𝒐𝒏 releases on 9/22. Available for preorder now! #LoveIsGoodReligion #TreyslationTuesdays

Nah, this is crazy. I’m a real life author. Again.

Not only do I not understand the desire to convince everyone that God thinks we all deserve to be crucified (brutally tortured & executed), I genuinely do not want to understand that desire. You can believe what you want. Please stop trying to explain it to me 😭

Finished recording the audiobook for 𝙇𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙂𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙍𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙞𝙤𝙣 today

It is said that you should not speak ill of the dead. But they keep telling us that Mitch McConnell is alive, so hurry up and speak your truth now, before it’s too late!

The audio engineer workin with me on Love Is Good Religion sent me a message about how workin on this book was landing with him (and a couple others) so far, and I legit got a bit misty eyed. I love the work I get to do 🥹

He then pairs each passage with fresh commentary to bring new fluency to what the text might say today, and maybe what it’s always said. Love is Good Religion releases on September 22nd, and is now available for pre-order at lakedrivebooks.com/books/love-is-good-religion.

What if the Bible still has something new to say—not because it has changed, but because we’ve stopped hearing it? In Love Is Good Religion, pastor and public theologian @pastortrey05.com takes well-known Bible passages and reimagines them with striking clarity in his own New Living Treyslation.

I'm looking for a few friends to join the launch team for Love Is Good Religion. You'll get an advance digital copy, and all I ask is that you preorder, leave an honest review after release, and help spread the word. Sign up here: forms.gle/JgpDmCQkdtM5...
