First published lexicon for @parksavvy.app: location posts! Keeping it a bit basic for now. Currently, the plan is to launch without media or hashtags. Those features will need a little more consideration, but they will absolutely be added shortly after launch 🚀

Post creation has been rewritten for the new build! Still things to figure out on the backend, but this is a great start 😍 Next up: publishing the lexicons!

Spent some time working on @parksavvy.app’s Map page this morning. Trying to make it as mobile-friendly as possible so it’s easy to use from inside the parks.

After a longer-than-expected break, I'm back to working on @parksavvy.app again #atproto Still playing around with this layout. Not sure how I feel about the feed being this wide, but I want to have some UI consistency between this and other pages like the Map, which needs to be wider. Thoughts?

Getting back into the groove of working on @parksavvy.app after a bit of a break. Likes now work "optimistically", which just means the app kind of assumes you can like a post without waiting for the full response. Should feel a little more instantaneous. #atproto

To those of you who have been following along, suffice it to say @parksavvy.app is not ready yet. I still consider this a success. I am so proud of the work that I've done in the last 2 weeks. I overcame huge hurdles, and the finish line is in sight. Thanks for the encouragement, and stay tuned ❤️

Just some small changes today, after several successes earlier in the week. Added a loading indicator to the Post button, since it takes a second or two to submit.

Just spent the last several hours making nearly imperceptible edits to the Post Feed UI. Toggle back and forth to see the changes. In the wise words of Tamara, "hey so it actually only has to make sense to me for me to do it and I don't feel like explaining it to anyone else"

Playing around with using a color scale on the rating slider for @parksavvy.app, and I'm not sure how I feel about it. On one hand, it helps standardize ratings (red: "I didn't like it", yellow: "It was okay", green: "I liked it"). On the other hand, maybe it's a bit much. Open to feedback!

Coming soon: Ratings! You'll be able to rate attractions, restaurants, haunted houses, and more, and see how your ratings compare with others.

Took a little break over the holidays, but back at work on the post creation modal. Still very much a WIP, but this feels like the right direction.

Back at work on the social feed! This probably looks pretty familiar, but it works completely differently. Instead of using Bluesky posts, we’ll be using a custom #atproto lexicon. Basically, it’s the best of both worlds: your data is still yours, but Parksavvy posts will be more Parksavvy-y.

Small progress update! Actually, there have been a ton of changes since the last update, but they’ve mostly been on the backend, so there’s not much to see… BUT peep the new brand color!

Well, I’ll be! It’s a u̶n̶i̶c̶o̶r̶n̶ post feed pulling real data from Bluesky. And look, she’s a̶ ̶m̶u̶m̶ got location tagging, menu item tagging, and ratings!
