Microsoft should buyout the remnants of Bioware. With proper management and a tight project goal I think Bioware could really cook as a "Prestige" studio. Bioware failed because EA kept chasing trends and forcing Bioware into areas they were unable to execute in due to ridiculous time constraints.

If Bioware was able to be given a fixed budget, with an upfront timeline, there's a good chance they could ship prestige titles like the old days. So buyout Bioware + Mass Effect IPs and then just build Mass Effect Universe as a core franchise to Xbox and Microsoft could win out big time imo.

Sad to see that Nvidia has functionally abandoned the consumer market that supported them for nearly their entire lifetime. Nearly impossible to get flagship video cards with no new releases on the horizon and the existing ones being shipped by the pallet to anyone but actual consumer end-users.

Kinda wild that you go through ALL of Diablo IV and it's expansions and won't actually fight Diablo until Diablo V comes out. And I'm not counting the event as a thing.

Sorry, but I'm not going to take any request to "Compromise on privacy for the sake of safety" from the CEO of the company that profits from selling the tools being used to compromise our privacy. It's telling how rules for thee and not for me came right to the to when he got doxxed.

It seems harder and harder to stay connected these days with people I want to stay connected with. With social media becoming a toxic cesspool governed by shitty algorithms, it's driven many people onto disparate 'islands' and we seem to be further disconnecting for our own sanity.

Kinda sad about the friends and folks I've lost touch with and more that will drift off as communities fade and people move on 😩 Can't even fault people for it, just harder to fill the gaps that people leave in your life when they fade out. 😔

I’m sorry but if you’re acting like disrespectful and utter dumbasses for no reason, then it’s not retaliation for defending themselves from your idiocy

Jamieson Greer tries to portray the US as a victim of Canadian aggression: "We're moving forward with measures that respond to Canadian retaliation" 🙃

Hear me out, Roguelike and Roguelite shooter set in the Judge Dredd universe. Procedurally generate different sized Block buildings based on difficulty. Casual = 25, Easy = 50 Levels etc with different enemies and factions. Sub bosses as you clear lower level factions in your way up.

Have random events like Judge reinforcements, Corrupt Judges, civilian help, etc as you move up the tower block. Arrest or solve the “main crime” to win the run. Have a few different judge classes like Psychic, Heavy (uses rifle), standard (normal pistol) etc for variety

Effectively treat it like Diablo I where you had your Town and 15 level dungeon with randomization and classes giving you the replayability. The Roguelite aspects would let you use your experience to pick up buffs to armor, weapon capacity, etc

What's up with Squarespace almost doubling my hosting costs? I host the most basic of basic websites that doesn't even get updated often. Their cost basis can't have gone up that much yet they are increasing my pricing from 130/year to 204/year.

If you don't provide those forms annually, the mortgage lender will take out insurance for you at insane rates...soooo pretty much blackmail lol.

It's wild to me that Obsidian Entertainment is having to justify it's existence to Microsoft. If a company like Obsidian is going to be shutdown, the industry is well and truly fucked in terms of it's priorities.

Supergirl is a solid movie. Not the best, but far from the worst I've seen. Good Lore setup for the new DC Universe and overall good time. Definitely better than whatever the hatemobs on the web are saying.

They should be. It used to be that the moderate mindset was for affordability and supporting the middle class and working class to have a stable and fruitful life. At some point, at least for the party, being moderate became maintaining the status quo at the cost of everyone else.

Politico@politico.com

Moderate Democrats fear they’re on the verge of losing the party’s ideological civil war to progressives.

The so-called boogeyman progressives are now anyone who pushes for making life livable for the average person… as if it’s a crazy and radical notion to take issue with not being able to work one full time and live decently. Most progressives are not radical at all…stop painting them as such

Glad to see Rep. Goldman get trounced in the primary. He was a good rep for a while but then took stances that made him deeply unpopular in his district and refused to back down (even doubled down). Hopeful to see what Brad Lander does after the election.

It's nice that we can afford to give Iran 300B$ but it was an absolutely impossible nightmare scenario to invest that in our own people because it was morally wrong.

It concerns me that we spent decades building security best practices, principles of least privilege, account access controls, multi-factor authentication, passkeys, and other processes... And then all these 'genius' AI companies ignore it all and give their agents rampant access to everything.

Facebook is out here with their AI Agent literally being scammed into giving away control of highly public and visible accounts via rudimentary prompt injection attacks and completely bypassing all common verification requirements is willllld.

The writing and plot arcs for The Boys was pretty awful for Season 5. That said...Antony Starr and Karl Urban really killed it in their roles

Of Course Elon Musk wants to eliminate Social Security and Medicare. Programs that millions of people rely on. He has no actual idea how to more efficiently replace and provide those services...he just wants them gone to eliminate reason to tax him.

"Star Fox" announced for Nintendo Switch 2, based on the Nintendo 64 game. Visuals update & characters redesigned

Looking at the SpaceX IPO and major 'tech' IPOs...it's clear that there needs to be more regulation and limits on selling ownership without control. Similar to when Sergey Brin and Larry Page exited Google...Musk is going to sell a large portion of the company, but maintain near lone control.

Musk is then offering his favored 'insiders' "SuperVoter" status which will further ensure that no one will be able to exercise any actual control for their investment in SpaceX. Which ultimately means Musk can still control his own pay packages despite it being a "public" company.

Really is convenient for Democrats to be on the verge of gaining a majority in the House via special elections and Republican seat losses only to expel or force exactly enough reps into resignation to maintain the deadlock. Like the allegations are serious...but why act now instead of months ago?

So glad Iphone has the "never feature this person" on the photo roll lol. Definitely an awful thing to wake up to when your phone just decides to pick a "Memory" to throw up on screen and picks someone you want absolutely nothing to do with ever again lol.

Dynamic pricing should be illegal unless the price range is published as well as the criteria used for generating the dynamic price shown i.e. If at that moment prices ranging from $3.50 to $9.99 are being given to customers, it must display that It should also show the modifiers used at spot time

Sam Altman clearly vulturing the Anthropic defense contracts due to how desperate he is for Money. Any notion that OpenAI plans to be ethical in deployments is dispelled by how fast they swooped in meaning they clearly caved to any demands the Pentagon and DoD had. I’m calling it now

When this goes sideways within a few months or it leaks about how some terribly unethical thing was done with AI, Sam Altman will come out and say he had no way to predict that the model would be used in such a manner.

It’s awfully convenient that Trump drums up some kind of major conflict that kills people whenever Epstein comes up and he needs to change the subject.

@thomasthecat.bsky.social Just throwing this out there based on stuff heard during your interview tour! For Fleet Content: What about introducing "Fleet Red Alerts". Randomized timed events where players defend their armada holdings from a hostile attack. Rewards Fleet Creds/Marks and Salvage

Minneapolis should find a public square or location and rename it to the Pretti-Good Square…or name 2 cross streets after Renee Good and Alex Pretti respectively.

So ICE shot a Registered Nurse in the back while he was trying to help a woman who was just pepper sprayed. That Registered Nurse was exercising their protected right in Minnesota to have a firearm DHS/ICE already lying saying the man was brandishing it when multiple angles show it was secured

I'm sure Amy Klobuchar is just "happy to be included" like when she was participating in Trump's Inauguration this time around.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Amy Klobuchar: "There are now more ICE agents in Minnesota than there are police officers combined in Minneapolis and St. Paul. So they are outnumbering our own local police officers out on the streets."

CES was really a joke this year...The "Consumer Electronics Show" really showed very little for PC tech from AMD and other companies. AMD truly jumped the shark by doing a full enterprise enshittification stance by putting Trump policy makers on stage talking about closed loop AI projects.

They specifically talked about Supercomputers and cloud systems which are not CONSUMER oriented. They specifically ignored announcing any actual products at the show for consumers...

The fact that people are not questioning prediction markets and something like Kalshi is trying to treat themselves like a trading platform...or Robinhood/Coinbase getting into gambling under the guise of trading is WWWWIIIIIILD.
