Sakiske Brewery’s beetroot sour and There Does Not Exist Rawhaus German pilsner. Gotta mention the Fluid State sourdough crust pizza! #bskybeer

Axios has a story on how CEOs can flatter and butter up Trump. Right and wrong, good policy or bad policy are second to access to power. Sums up Axios philosophy.

It's gonna get worse before it gets worse. Trump will spend the remainder of his presidency facing the consequences of epically bad decisions. We are in a period of rising prices, slow growth, an imminent recession, a grim war and broad legal jeopardy for many in the Trump circles. 2547

On a rainy day, a long time ago, I sat under this tree in Lafayette Park in San Francisco watching my three year old son stomping through the puddles. I couldn’t have been happier.

Just canceled my Business Insider subscription because they are treating Trump’s corruption as business-as-usual. I know it won’t be noticed by anyone other than myself but it is the right thing to do.

My wife managed to get this photo of the passing Christmas parade in Santa Barbara, and the inside of our favorite restaurant there, Los Agaves. I told my wife I would eat my hat if we could get a table during the parade. Apparently guacamole makes everything better…

Sadly, Bidwell Mansion in Chico, CA was consumed by fire last night. Maybe arson. It’s a gut punch to a proud little city who treasured the house that was in the heart of their community. Photo borrowed from Diego Moctezuma of Action News Now.

Not exotic, but we recommend the Hyatt House in Santa Clara when in the Bay Area…on weekends. Convenient to SF, East Bay, and Santa Cruz and the weekend rates are reasonable. Also we have an adult son with Downs who loves the nearby Chipotle!

Apropos nothing, I would just like to put in a kind word for Oakland, CA. I lived and worked there back in the nineties and have been back to visit friends many times. Yes it can be dangerous in some neighborhoods, but most of the city is funky, eclectic, and vibrant. Don’t be afraid!

We are to the Maritime Provinces next summer. Flying in to Bangor, then on to Saint John NB, Charlottetown PEI, Halifax NS, and then back to Bar Harbor for a couple of days before returning to Bangor then home. Any suggestions for things to see, do, and eat.

I sent an email to the editors of Talking Points Memo asking they engage in less analysis and more action. A good place to start is using our dollar vote and not giving money to Trump supporters. It’s been tried but before but….worth another shot.

You are up to date.
