The trip home from Spiel Essen isn't going quite as smoothly as the trip there. 28 hours traveling and have only gotten from Dusseldorf to London. But the plane is here 🤞🤞🤞

And no... i didn't walk here.

Made it home... 42 hours later. It was a long trip back from Spiel Essen. Still worth it though😆

We played Cat Earth, where you play as kaiju kitties who knock houses off a flat planet. Was it as fun as it sounds? Find out! #BoardGames thegamesletter.com/cat-earth-a-...

Who is ready for Day 2 of Spiel Essen? Come visit us in Hall 6, stand K110. And please look for me, especially if you want to play a round of #VikingTraders. FYI, that's not me in the photo. I've got a scruffy white beard and long hair, and will undoubtedly be wearing a blue meeple tshirt.

The most excited news from Day #1 at Spiel Essen? The amazing ❤️ response we got for our new game Viking Traders . At the beginning of the day, there were only 25 ratings on BGG. Today we got 10 new ratings - 9 of which were from game plays at Spiel Essen. One 10 One 9 One 8.5 Five 8's One 7 One 6

Without a doubt, our number one game on Day 1 at Spiel Essen was Cat Earth #CatEarth At one point in time we had 10 games of Cat Earth being played at the same time.

Day 1 at Spiel Essen off to a great start. All 9 of our demo tables are occupied. Aisles are packed. All is good.

Now en route to Spiel Essen. Very excited 😊 ... other than the long flight of course.

I wonder if the cat won? #CatEarth

Exciting news about #Essen2026 Last year was out first time exhibiting at Essen Spiel. We were buried in Hall 5 and were hard to find. Well... this year we are moving to Hall 6. Hall 6 is great. There are some large players in Hall 6 like Blue Orange, Piatnik, Huch, Iello, Gigamic, and Carletto.

BREAKING NEWS!!! We've signed Panda Royale for distribution in Canada and the UK. Image cropped so you can't see my score. George beat me.

Apparently our Cobble Hill sorting trays make great rolling trays for Panda Royale 🎲🎲🎲

Ouch! Hard to get a score THIS low in #PandaRoyale. Soundly thumped in a five player game. Red dice were not my friend.

In 2021 we manufactured 1,476 units of Goderich-Opoly, all of which were shipped to retailers in Goderich. It's a small town on the shores of Lake Huron, population circa 8,500. I checked. It's just over 4,000 km away from where I live. How does Goderich-Opoly end up in a local thrift store???

27 June

Was curious to see if Goderich-Opoly was still sittng on the shelf. So I went back today to check it out. It sold!!! It's only been 6 days!!! So who is buying Goderich-Opoly way over here on the West Coast!?!?!

We had an amazing time at #Origins2026. Lots of game demos. Thank you to all our staff and volunteers who made it such a success. Tournament of Pieces speed puzzling events sponsored by Cobble Hill were a hit. The feedback from participants was very positive. See you in Columbus next year!!!

With travel to Birmingham for UK Games Expo, I haven't been checking BGG as often. UPDATE: we've surpassed the 200 ratings milestone 🥳 For everyone who has played Guildlands and shared their thoughts on BGG, thank you. We appreciate all feedback immensely - both positive or negative.

Outset (Dave Manga) 🔜 Essen@outsetgames.bsky.social

We're just 13 ratings away from reaching 200 ratings on BGG for Guildlands. If you've played the game but haven't left your thoughts on BGG, please do so. It would be a cool milestone to reach.

I've been contemplating this list since I posted it a few hours ago. While we have offices in the US and UK, we are based in Canada (founded 30 years ago in Victoria, BC). Interestingly, only 2 of our top 15 games at #UKGE2026 were designed by North American inventors. Interesting observation.

UK Games Expo #UKGE2026 was a HUGE success! THANK YOU to everyone at Outset Media and Cheatwell Games, our inventors, and all the volunteers who worked hard to demo our games! There were 19 of us working the booth, 10 of whom travelled from Canada. Will be posting our top 15 games later today.
