"MnDOT’s process shut out real input from the residents and local leaders who know the corridor best." @mndot.mn.gov is moving on to the next stage of the process for Highway 252/I-94 with 10 highway expansion alternatives and a "preferred alternative" that doesn't reflect what the community wants.

Highway 252 needs to be safer, and that any project should improve residents’ quality of life and support economic growth in both Brooklyns. This is only possible if residents truly have a say in what gets built. This is a critical opportunity to share your opposition to a highway in any form.

The future of Olson Memorial Highway should be shaped by the residents living there. Near North residents are invited to join Our Streets and the Bring Back 6th Coalition for our Home is Here II events in the Harrison and Heritage Park neighborhoods. A free community dinner will also be provided.

Thank you to everyone who came to our board fundraiser. We had a great time talking to fellow transportation advocates and raising money for streets that prioritize people.

As is tradition, we're riding to the venue together if you'd like to join. Meet under the Greenway bridge at Hennepin Ave @ 5:15pm, rolling at 5:30pm. Party Pace: 8-12 mph

Get involved! This important work needs your support. The Our Streets board is hosting our annual fundraiser this Wednesday at @dualcitizenbrewing, and we'd love to see you there.

Doorknocking isn't scary. Speeding cars, increasing air & noise pollution, and destroying homes & businesses are. Join us to doorknock in Near North for our Bring Back 6th campaign. We'll talk to residents about safety improvements for the corridor, like lengthening crossing times at intersections.

The Our Streets Board is hosting their annual fundraiser: Nightmare on Our Streets! 🎃 Join us at Dual Citizen Brewing Company as we raise money for streets for people. There will be pizza, mystery prizes, and opportunities to connect with fellow transportation advocates.

We are having such a good time sharing a meal and hearing about what you’d like to see for the future of Olson Memorial Highway.

If you couldn’t make it, consider letting @mndot.mn.gov know you’d like to see immediate safety improvements along Olson while we reimagine the future of the corridor. Residents have been asking the agency for safety improvements since 2022. www.ourstreetsmn.org/2026/10/07/t...

Carshare is a critical part of our transportation system. People rely on HOURCAR and Evie. The sudden sunset is devastating. Let decision-makers know you support emergency bridge funding to save carshare. savecarsharemn.org

Near North residents and community members have been asking @mndot.mn.gov for safety improvements since 2022. These immediate safety improvements, necessary in the interim of the longer-term project analysis, are long overdue. Contact decision-makers to implement these life-saving measures now.

After three years, your advocacy for Near North Minneapolis worked! For the very first time, MnDOT will begin a pilot project to incorporate Aesthetic Surface Treatments (ASTs) into the public right of way on Olson Memorial Highway. This is a huge win for our Bring Back 6th campaign.

This is a major step forward, but Mayor Frey has indicated he plans to veto. Let him know you support Workers Drive Minneapolis. actionnetwork.org/letters/work...

Tomorrow starts the Week Without Driving. Make the pledge to participate! Spread the word and share your story. Tag @WeekWithoutDriving and @ourstreetsmn so we can amplify your story and show what transportation access really looks like in Minnesota. weekwithoutdriving.org

What would change in your life if driving wasn’t an option? What changes when you cannot drive somewhere? Does an errand or a doctor’s appointment become a full-day commitment? Does a job become a question of access, not ability? weekwithoutdriving.org

weekwithoutdriving.orgWeek Without Driving: October 1-8, 2026Sep 29th – Oct 5th, 2025 - An experience created for everyone to learn firsthand about barriers and challenges for nondrivers. Join, support, or become a host.

These questions reveal how much we assume everyone drives. That assumption reveals who has access and who gets left out. When you don’t drive, everything becomes a negotiation between time, money, energy, distance, and a trade-off of what you can do and can access.

Walking, biking, and rolling can be scary. You can help. The Our Streets Board is hosting their annual fundraiser, Nightmare on Our Streets. There will be pizza, mystery prizes, and opportunities to connect with fellow transportation advocates. 🎨: Dane Hart, Our Streets Board Member

Do you think you can go a week without driving? People without a car and those unable to drive often face barriers getting around reliably in our communities. From October 1-8, we invite you to make the pledge and challenge yourself to not drive for a week.

We need you to ring the governor's office. Take action by calling Governor Walz's office to ask for a pause on the project.

Need guidance on what to say? Use our call script. The time to act is now. Make your voice heard and apply pressure to make the Twin Cities a more livable, climate-resilient, vibrant, healthy, and connected community.
