One of the classes I'm taking this quarter is Japanese. I can now read 99% of Hiragana, now working on Katakana. Granted, I don't understand much of anything I'm reading save for a few words here and there, but it's kinda wild to be able to look at those characters and know what they sound like now.

Maybe it's the impostor syndrome speaking, but I didn't think I'd be able to catch on to it. The main trouble I'm having is retaining the little bit of vocabulary we've covered so far, but I guess that just comes with practice.

JFC these scammers are getting worse. Within seconds of my last post one slid into my DMs with random pictures of kids and a sob war zone story. I just had to close my DMs to only people I follow because of it. It was bad enough when they randomly reposted my comments.

Dropped that class. Even if the instructor replies now, it's too late. I went to browse the programming courses to replace that class and ran into several that said they make use of AI to explore how to use it in conjunction with coding and honestly my stomach dropped. Do not want. Fuck. Off.

I program because I enjoy solving a puzzle. I like figuring stuff out. I even like the process of typing out the mundane, boring boilerplate shit at times. I can not and I will not let a machine code for me. That takes away the fun and the joy of creating something with my own hands.

Less than a week into the quarter and I already have an unresponsive instructor. Not a good look for him when I need to discuss my disability accommodations. I sent a follow up and if I get no good response by the end of the week I'm just straight dropping the class. I don't have time for this shit.

Well dangit. This radio telescope feed requires a Bias Tee (basically it needs to be powered), and unfortunately the software defined radio dongle my boyfriend let me use does not have that ability. Looks like I'm shopping for a new dongle. Heh heh. Dongle.

My boyfriend audited a college course for very cheap. I had a brilliant idea to do the same at my college for a few classes I knew I would have a tough time in, basically as extra study. When I asked, they told me they charge the same price for auditing as for regular admission. Fuck me I guess. 🙃

Finally getting this radio telescope project going. Had a crappy-but-stable old camera tripod I cannibalized to mount the antenna to. Now I need to put the SDR stuff together and set up all the relevant software.

The amount of AI slop on YouTube is pissing me off. I see a video that looks interesting, click it, hear the AI voice and shit, stop it, downvote it, then I have to go to my history and remove it so that doesn't pollute my recommends. I really miss the late 1990's internet. Fuck this shit.
