I was going to make a joke about how "at least she has a career as a lawyer to go back to" but at least 17 other people have already made this joke in one form or another
BREAKING NYT: Trump's new press secretary, Katie Zacharia, was fired Friday, after less than a week on the job, according to three people familiar with the matter.

Great little thread, highly recommended for laffs:
SCENE: An office in DC. February 2024. JACK SMITH: I’ve got to make a secret trip to Atlanta to co-ordinate with my co-conspirator in my campaign to bring down Trump. No one can even know I’m there. AIDE: You’re the most well-known prosecutor in the world. Maybe send some underling?
I was not aware of this bill but it sounds like a good idea to me! No reason to hold it up that I can see. ...except, of course, large donations from, let's just say... Edison? PG&E? Who can say.
Hey @governor.ca.gov: Any plans to sign the “Balcony Solar” bill (SB 868) into law before the 9/30 deadline? It’s been on your desk for weeks. CA renters should have an opportunity to cut ⚡️costs, reduce carbon emissions, and help the grid during peak usage. What’s the holdup?
California - and nobody, really - should hire any of these asshole contractors ever again. Sorry it's a 20 minute video but the tl;dr is that this consortium of contractors has been and is continuing to extort the people of Los Angeles. youtu.be/3FOZ7R9bUBA?...
Have you ever been mad at something you made for being truly delicious, because it was even more of a pain in the ass than you thought it would be? To the point where you (or I, anyway) say "God DAMMIT. This is good." Well, I have with this finicky damn recipe: www.seriouseats.com/food-lab-cre...
Neat stuff going on at the Tar Pits! (Though I think calling Wilshire & Fairfax "Hancock Park" is a bit of a stretch)
Millions of fossils. 23 Boxes. One epic dig. Located in Hancock Park, Project 23 is an ongoing excavation where staff scientists and volunteers work on excavating 23 boxes of fossil deposits discovered in 2006 during the construction of an underground parking garage.
Let none of us ever forget that the reason Malibu is an incorporated city is because the incredibly rich residents threw a revolt when the city of Los Angeles (to which Malibu used to belong) asked the residents to pay taxes to build them a proper sewer system. MAKES YA WONDER, HUH?

Yet another politician who has failed to fulfill his campaign promises. Shameful.
People of #LosAngeles. We have a chance to finally be rid of Spencer Pratt once and for all! You know what to do. Personally I would vastly prefer you vote for Nithya but if you feel you must vote for Karen Bass I can understand without agreeing. people.com/spencer-prat...
Haven't seen this until now and, well, yes. Very much so.
I have 3 axioms that help me decide when to talk to people I disagree with: 1. To debate a subject is to concede that the subject is debatable. 2. To reason with a person is to concede that the person is reasonable. 3. To ask for evidence of a claim is to concede that the claim might be true.
