Come to this if you're in London on 5 November. A talk on the Gaza genocide and its broader contexts by one of the leading authorities on the Middle East (and my former PhD supervisor) @gilbert-achcar.bsky.social. It will be well worth your time. www.soas.ac.uk/about/event/...
Sinister argument-shopping considerations behind denial of @declassifieduk.org of a parliamentary press pass. Worrying. Join me in telling Westminster that you also care about freedom of the press in the UK. I've just signed my name. secure.declassifieduk.org/page/178447/...

Why is SAI framed as the solution to the air pollution-cooling dilemma? A student of ours modelled and found that temperature anomalies resulting from a reduction of China and India’s AQSLCFs under SSP3-7.0 might be negated by a 0.05% reduction in global carbon emissions! Is SRM more realistic?
I have a new @nytimes.com guest essay w/ @davidkeith.bsky.social about sunlight reflection. We note its not a solution for climate change and at best a band aid to treat systems, and suggest if its ever done it should only be to replace the cooling from air pollution today:
