NWSL Notes

The Ohio Health Training Grounds formely known as McCoy Park. The park NWSL Columbus stole from the community.

The Washington Spirit owners are worried a roof would lead to more concerts and interfere with their league schedule. But that isn't stopping DC United owner Jason Levien from using the Spirit's expiring lease as a cover for his own $300m subsidy demand.

My biggest takeaway is the league needs to increase the salary cap and the transfer fee. And they need charter planes. I wish there was a question about the commissioner . We know Gotham people love her but what about the rest of the GM’s?

“One GM said the rule hurts veterans who aren't stars but are the ‘real culture pieces’ of a team.” And this is my biggest worry re. our offseason ahead.

This has been rumored for so long. I‘m glad someone finally said it. It’s so obvious . NWSL plays the favorite game no matter how much people deny it. There is definitely a Inter Miami situation

It’s no secret that the league has favorites glad someone said it 👀

LA REINA WINS HER THIRD BALLON D’OR ‼️👑 After a UWCL-winning season, Alexia Putellas adds yet another accolade to her trophy cabinet, equalling Spain teammate Aitana Bonmati’s record for most Ballon d’Or wins by a women’s player. One of the greatest players in football history 👏

Charlyn Corral is named Striker of the Year 🇲🇽 The 4x Liga MX Femenil Golden Boot winner and 3x Player of the Year has just made history as the first Mexican woman to win an award at the Ballon d'Or ceremony. The 35-year-old Pachuca striker is a legend of the game 👏

Potential celebrations on a practice court? Meaning they get kicked out the second they win. Just terrible

The NBA executives don’t really respect the WNBA yet. That part is clear. They had weeks to come up with a better solution.

speaking of sharing #NWSL feelings…the postseason survey is live and I’m reminded of how much I love reading y’all’s responses

I had 18,000 people at my birthday party this weekend

Will be reporting this as 11,500. Clearly this doesn’t count

(No way this counts as a record)

I think the wave have been good more often than not. I can see them winning the shield.

Nevermind lol

Boston?!

Having the graphic cover it for most of the shot is the exact behavior I’ve come to expect from the @nwslsoccer.com

Anti-trans bigots are coming to NWSL games looking to provoke violence or other incidents that could go viral. This is the back-up plan: harass and endanger anyone who stands up to them. NWSL is going to have to contend with this. Kicking the can down the road will put too many fans at risk.

NWSL Attendance Leaders: The Portland Thorns Total attendance of the season: 286,096 Average: 19,073 Median: 19106 6 games over 20,000 Lowest attendance: 15,683 #baonpdx #nwsl

Women’s sports face enough real problems. Don’t buy into this made up one villainizing the Trans community.

the woso community can be so, so good

Failure definitely lies with the governing bodies of the various professional women's sports leagues who refuse to take proper action against outside agitators whose sole presence and purpose is to delegitimize and bully the athletes who are responsible for these leagues existing

Sad if this is one of the last few games Racing Louisville ever plays in the nwsl. They deserve a better owners

The offseason is going to be interesting for Racing Louisville.

Oh wow

It’s the Tordin show and we’re all just living in it. 🌹🥹 massive congratulations to Pietra Tordin on being named this seasons Supporters’ Player of the Year!!

🚀 Marie Müller.

Some hateful folks in the North End have their messaging blocked by flags and lead to a “Trans Lives Matter” chant

Oh wow. Muller only scores bangers

Ref let them play

Harvey suffer ball . Old habits die hard

Sánchez just take it

Sánchez will get another chances to break the record in this game
