To be fair Westminster have a Clean Routes journey planner* which - er - tells you the fastest and cleanest air is to cycle down Oxford Street. cleanairroutes.org?start=ChIJjf...
Ah, but these are borough roads you should go to Westminster Council's website - you might say... Yeah, about that. Westminster Council's advice on cycling consists of a PDF of a leaflet, which then just tells you to go back to TfL. www.westminster.gov.uk/roads-and-tr...

In the last few weeks i've been bombarded with emails from people who have minor tech support problems. ChatGPT is telling them to email me, writing their emails, and compiling "evidence packets" after convincing them they have stumbled on a major story: www.404media.co/chatgpt-keep...
Excellent news! One of those things that has been easy to ask for, but doubtless takes a while to get the right plumbing behind the scenes.
Travelling in London can be complex, and even more so if you're dependent on having access to toilets along the way. We've made it easier to find in TfL Go - tap on any station on the map, and if toilets are there, tap the new 'Toilet facilities' button for detailed info.
Pavegen? There's a name I haven't heard for a long time. They were trying to sell people on the idea of generating data and power from paving slabs. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pavegen And er... It seems Pavegen went into administration on 30 September. www.thegazette.co.uk/notice/5223249 Maybe not.

This is a good primer on Israel's political situation going into tomorrow's election. But I'd like to go deeper on something he only touches on, which is that part of the reason for Israel's electoral doldrums (and resulting geopolitical chaos) is its broken political system bsky.app/profile/avis...
In about 24 hours, poles will open here in Israel. In what is a strong contender for Israel’s most critical elections. The election pits Netanyahu’s extremely unpopular coalition against a non-coherent, but moderately more liberal, opposition. Here are some thoughts as we head into it.

We literally have the largest bike-touring event in the world which has been an annual summer state tradition for FIFTY YEARS. There's a giant exhibit in the state historical museum about it. This is comical.

Just catching up with this story. Turning Point UK came to my neighbourhood to “protect our kids” from drag queen storytellers at the Honor Oak pub. I don’t think people appreciate how much the English far right is tied up with Ulster Loyalism, and how dangerous this is in a time of polarisation.
"They can start cutting people's faces up. They can stab someone. They can shoot someone." EXCLUSIVE: Our hidden cameras capture the leader of Turning Point UK organising a fake rally for a foreign government and helping arrange a murder-for-hire with loyalist paramilitaries.

I think ‘progressives should trust Elon Musk’ is a bold claim. “Teslas across the country that contain the technology required for autonomy, which merely require the regulatory green light to operate in ‘full self-driving’ (FSD) mode.” FSD exists to boost Tesla’s share price, not to upgrade cars.
Why progressives should learn to love driverless cars – this is excellent from @jamesomalley.co.uk on how they'll save lives, reduce transport inequality and make cities more liveable. www.arguably.uk/p/driverless...
Yeah, progressives should totally trust this company. www.reuters.com/world/tesla-...

Just checked and of course, the last time there was a Commons vote on this back in 2018, Badenoch voted against the proposals to decant and get on with the restoration of the Palace of Westminster, as the cross-party joint commission had strongly recommended.
There's obviously a serious point here, but it's quite funny optics for the Conservative party to complain that it used to be so much quicker to build a stately home.

#DougFord knew that bike lanes improved traffic flow or at least didn't slow it down. Government staff told him so. So how much of municipal taxpayer money is he wasting pulling these out? His pet peeves are a burden on municipal property rates. #onpoli #Stupid www.thestar.com/news/gta/dou...
Reducing enforcement on roads sadly has a predictable outcome.
How's that speed camera ban going in Ontario? - 30 traffic fatalities in Ottawa so far this year, exceeding the 23 total fatalities in 2025 - Toronto on track for a five year traffic fatality high. - Windsor reporting "staggering" number of injury crashes this year www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

The US government and its allies in the tech industry have very clearly been giving active aid to the Bolsonaro campaign during this year's campaign and other democracies need to wake up to the reality that America under Trump thinks nothing of interfering in other countries democracy.

Again, stop conceding the talking points of the right. The description 'unvetted' comes up in right wing Facebook posts constantly. This really isn't about security checks. Have we 'vetted' masked men intimidating RNLI volunteers?
The furthest Davey will go is: "Of course, not every single person who comes over is the threat. The vast majority will not be. But one of the concerns about the current system is there are no security checks that are able to be made."

This is the part many Americans -- including the Bezosites at the Washington Post -- don't understand. Canadians don't see this just as a Trump thing. It's that America elected him twice, and the second time with an even bigger mandate. The problem we're addressing is America, not Trump.
"Out of spite for President Donald Trump, Carney is accelerating the decoupling of a trade bloc that has generated enormous prosperity for North America." Seriously, Wapo editorial - you're going with Canadian spite? www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/202...
“emissions from aviation have more than doubled since 1990, while emissions across the UK economy as a whole have halved. Heathrow Airport is currently responsible for around half of the aviation industry’s emissions.” Growth as so often, poses a problem. www.theccc.org.uk/2026/09/16/g...
Really quite striking just how large aviation would be in future carbon budgets. Is this really even plausible as an outcome? “By 2050, under the Current Trends scenario, the [aviation] sector will account for 65% of whole-economy residual CO2 emissions.” www.theccc.org.uk/publication/...
“The group, which calls itself the Blade Runners, claims the sensors fitted to traffic lights are far more than simple pieces of traffic-management equipment.” Same name as the anti-ULEZ lot and yet more vandalism that destroys safe ways of crossing the road.
