Let’s talk about how this works and why we have older devices. When I started doing cabin integration back in 2017, we actually had a 2020 launch date. We bought the tablets the crew used for Artemis II back then. To not spend as much, we limited our choice to devices that were in the ISS catalog.

Was there a rule they could only use 1969 technology?Throwback jersey night at NASA

@patrick.risky.biz I don't think digital identity attestation is hard. but it's not commercially viable in that it probably needs to be a government service ( and done properly ). cause at the end of the day the source of truth is the government.

@patrick.risky.biz did you see foreign correspondent last night. it was on the Iraq and Israel twelve day war. anyway there was this bit with an ex mossad station chief who said days of deep agents is over you just get a buch of people via the internet to do little missions that become a big one

I feel like one of the reasons the right is crashing out over the entire CK assassination is that they're frightened. I mean for a lot of them he was in the same line of work. And for Trump himself having gone through 2 assassination attempts in the last 12 months this must really mess with him.

This is one of the reasons I think the media was so down on the Dems last election. The Biden Admin was boring as catsuit. Trump's is political journalism on easy mode with all the cheat mods installed.

It is essential that the historians writing about the end of America place this as the first and most critical text.

Three Trail of Bits engineers audited core Go cryptography for a month and found only one low-sev security issue... in unsupported Go+BoringCrypto! 🍾 Years of efforts on testing, limiting complexity, safe APIs, and readability have paid off! ✨ Yes I am taking a victory lap. No I am not sorry. 🏆

I can't believe that they haven't just tried reversing the polarity of the neutron flow instead. Amatuers.

Colin Langdon (who was at the event I put on earlier in the month) asks about dust/fog/glare issues with cameras as a safety issue in Tesla's approach to driving automation. Musk claims Tesla uniquely "bypasses the digital signal processer" and does "direct photon counting"

So a 32% Tariff on Taiwan, i wonder how all the tech bros are going to feel about their data centre capex increasing by a third.

See before there were grocery bags they had to tie onions to their belts.

Trump: "An old fashioned term that we use -- groceries. I used it on the campaign. It's such an old fashioned term, but a beautiful term. Groceries. It says a bag with different things in it."

Aside from everything else the graphic design on that handout is terrible.

That PC look like a gaming rig. I reckon the only things he does on that is game and shitpost, and I'm not sure about the shitposting.

Elon Musk is now sharing the image of his office that the New York Times published a few weeks ago, with Pepe the Frog photoshopped into the frame behind his desk.

ok there are a lot of people saying that because the government is proposing the sale of government buildings they are not going to be using them. That's probably not the plan. 1/

A pretty standard business play, to free up capital, is to sell real estate and then lease it back. usually the lease back is a condition of the sale and sometimes the duration of the lease is long. That's what I think is happening here. TBF most people saying this maybe just posting shark.

The real concern I'd have is that there really isn't a need for a government to free up capital and that the sale process might favour those with ties to the executives. I mean the President is in the real estate business right.

Look, many have said it, but i feel like this is the precursor to him saying what's the safest place in America? It's with the president. so let's move this gold to mar-a-largo so it'll be safer.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump: "We've actually going to Ft Knox to see if the gold is there. Because maybe somebody stole the gold. Tons of gold."

To be fair fucking up Americans ability to buy shit from Temu, Shein, Amazon and any drop shipper was probably even too dumb for Trump

President Xi didn’t even bother to fake giving him something. Trump just quietly surrendered in the dead of night. #FakeTariffs

Reading about birthright citizenship caused me to wonder, if you believed personhood begins at conception (I don't), how does that intersection with birthright citizenship?

So does that vapid Nazi saluting douche realise that his car company is going to take a fair revenue haircut when the EV subsidies get canned?

BREAKING: Here is the anti-trans sex/gender executive order. It's extensive, it's bad, and it's often lawless. www.whitehouse.gov/presidential... And, do not miss in "d" and "e" below, it even tries to put in the beginnings of a personhood argument, for some reason.

Elon totally did a Nazi salute, it's exactly the kind of edge lord shit he regularly pulls. I just hope it pulls enough coverage that Trump gets jealous and shitty with Elon.

I often see a lot of left people saying Biden did nothing. He did in fact do things, and some of them are quite good.

Benjamin Clark@benjamin-clark.bsky.social

Joe Biden may be on the way out, but Bidenomics shouldn’t be. His commitment to full employment has been globally transformative. In evaluating his legacy, we mustn’t throw the baby out with the bathwater. My latest in @crikey.com.au: www.crikey.com.au/2025/01/20/b...

Taiwan, being in a state of political paralysis right now actually really scares me. This has the potential to turn into a very bad thing.

Not now, Taiwan. I can only follow so many constitutional crises at one time.

I know you’re prob sick of me but I got this off my chest earlier this week & I think a lot of comedy fans could find it cathartic maybe.
