Bioware made some of the most impactful games and stories in my life. I don't think I'm surprised to see the studio being shuttered at this point, I'll still grieve its closure.

If I had a nickel for every time I was part of a video game feature in a printed European magazine, I'd have three nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened thrice. From @jvlemag.com #118 in a story about dead MMOs, with one of my pictures from the last day of City of Heroes.

It's been a couple of weeks so I'll share some more thorough thoughts about my BlizzCon experience this year. Overall, it was a good time, but that wasn't the convention's fault. It's the attendance, meeting up with people you play online with, and just sharing mutual interests with strangers.

And now I'm emotional and upset about this again, so I'll stop here before my foot gets too far in my mouth. I can hope they'll smooth things out next time, but I'm experienced enough to see the trends and understand the oppressive demands of capital getting in the way of that.

But if there was anyone on any of the Warcraft teams out there who read this and want to tell me about their favorite project, big and small, I'd love to hear about it and hopefully provide earnest recognition and enjoyment in return. #warcraft #blizzcon #wow #worldofwarcraft

But at this meet and greet, I got to ask one of the devs, who was happy to talk to me about it, but some production person came over and said I needed to move on. The dev was so kind and said to at least give me two minutes. I tried to make the best of it, but didn't even get that.

It wasn't even that busy, nor did it stop others from coming through getting their posters signed, too. Maybe there was other opportunity for such questions? Hell if I know. I would guess the Inclusion Lounge or something, but couldn't even get up there because of the Darkmoon line anyway.

I don't usually get stuff signed. I just want to interact, usually just asking one question, "What's the absolute favorite thing you made/worked on?" because they're creative and passionate people, and hearing their passion is so fucking cool.

I'd done this in previous years. I've had wonderful and hilarious conversations about things like rock shapes, item levels of crafted gear, and the inspiration for a side quest. There's so much depth to it all, and it's just so interesting.

Like, there was no central organization of those schedules. They weren't online. They weren't at the info desks. They were only on signs near the tables. Super weird and silly for something that was already scheduled and planned.

2) Meeting and talking to some of the Warcraft teams was always my favorite thing to do, but not this year. Because I wasn't allowed? The space was mostly setup as a "Can you sign this poster/whatever I brought with me?" and that's what most people did. That's how it usually was.

The Darkmoon Faire experience continues to be more of a bane than a boon. It continued to be such a poorly managed space that gets in the way of so many other things - like not being able to get to the 2nd level of the convention center for the three other spaces/stages of activities? Oof.

My biggest gripe was with the "Meet and Greet" operations. There were these tables and line spaces sprinkled throughout the show floor with their own schedules for meeting different teams, artists, creators, etc. First: None of the schedules were available except for a sign next to each table.

I gave away some League of Legends skin codes on Reddit a couple of times, with the most recent time being 12 years ago. Someone just DMed me today asking if I still had them.

I put in some effort into a new exterior design for my #worldofwarcraft house this week, and I'm loving the results. #warcraft

The greatest fantasy that World of Warcraft provides is that hard work, knowledge, and expression of ability is rewarding. Could you imagine if real life was like that, too?

Got up to 2771 rating tonight with a mix of +12s and not. Also got two rings, and wrists! Solid gains. Good luck on your Great Vaults, fellow Champions.

And shoutout to the devs behind the Azta'rec Delve Nemesis this season. It reminds me of The Maven fight from Path of Exile. I still stink at the memory game.

Working on a new video and I'm just really grateful for Housing to be able to whip together some digital sound stages for the specific ideas and vibes I want to use #warcraft

"We're not moving forward with your application" and "This inbox is not monitored". Name a more iconic duo.

And so layoff number six has come. And only 31% of my job applications this year have received any kind of response at all. What a system we live in.

Messed around with the data I've been hoarding on my job applications since 2020. (Un)fun fact: Only 44.7% of roles received a follow-up of any kind, including interviews, declines, role closures. Automated or not. ~500 applications in this data set. Primarily mid to senior marketing roles.
