Ooh! This is cool. Turns out that owning Forza Horizon 4 and 5 on PC means I can also download and play them for free on my XBox One. Essentially, I can now play them from the comfort of my sofa on my big TV in glorious surround sound. Yippee!

Another one I remember being very freaked out about at the time was an episode of Alfred Hitchcock Presents called 'Final Escape'. I only remember the very scary ending where the main character wakes up and discovers he's been buried alive in a coffin and starts screaming and banging on the walls.

In honor of scary media month: what is the first piece of media you remember truly frightening you as a child?

In honor of scary media month: what is the first piece of media you remember truly frightening you as a child? The appearance of the man with no face in Sapphire and Steel. It was my introduction to the show and it both terrified and completely hooked me. I never missed an episode after that.

Probably the 1979 adaptation of Salem's Lot, in particular this scene. It looks really cheesy now yet scared the bejesus out of 10-year old me.

I've been wanting watch Columbo for the longest time, so I've finally decided to take the plunge. I watched the 1968 and 1971 pilots over the last two nights (they were good but not great) and will be starting on the series proper shortly. I'm looking forward to this.

It's probably as obvious as the sun in the sky but mine is Jet Set Willy. It wasn't the first game I ever played (that would be Pong), and I played many more games before it, but it had such an effect on me since I first played it that it's remained one of my favourite games of all time since then.

Nighthawks is brilliant. It's basically a modern update of the old text adventures I loved on the Spectrum. You play a newly sired vampire trying to make a life in a city built for your kind. There are many interesting characters you can meet on your journey (my favourites so far is Veronica, an...

ancient representative of an Italian noble house, and Saoirse, an Irish street fighter who doesn't take any bullshit), with lots of stories and side quests to undertake. It's well recommended and definitely a candidate for game of the year 2026.

Just bought it on Steam (it's not available on GoG for me yet for some reason) and am downloading it now. I can't wait to play it.
