I got caught up in a surprise layoff back at the end of Q3. Frustrating as I'd busted my hump most of last year and everything was on track for Q4 delivery. So I took the last few months off to relax and work on personal projects. Vacation is over, though, so once more into the breach.

What started as the cats playing with the tree and knocking ornaments down has turned into them parading around the house with their kills. Maxine came up earlier and presented me with the felt mushroom she took off the tree. She was very proud of herself.

More to say on burnout and I'm probably going to boost it a few times because folks need to hear it: Burnout is a form of brain damage. It happens when stress conditions persist until they damage our brains. It's an injury that needs to heal, not a weakness that needs to be pushed through.
