if there's one thing i hope ppl learn from this vgen broker situation, it's to be more critical as a consumer. cheap prices are a red flag. you see this in the fashion and food industry, and art is just another market. look inward and see what you can do as a client.

and of course you are still allowed to use the art from broker accounts, you paid for it and have the right of it. but if it's a matter of moral conflict for you, there's other (temporary) options: PNGTubing, premade and/ or customizable models. there's plenty out there.

take action and responsibility to better the art community. ask others for recommendations. check if your fav artists take comms. do research. where you put your money is where the market will grow, and please let it be real artists and fair prices.

put your energy into researching artists within your budget, set a goal and rally your community to hit it. yes, it can be expensive, but expecting lower prices is exactly WHY shady practices like this appear in the first place. pay artists what they deserve.

i've seen a couple of ppl say they wanna support artists but don't have/want any OCs or ideas in general, so here's an idea: you could commission artists for art of your fav vtuber! you'll be giving an artist work AND getting your streamer a nice gift πŸ’›

years ago during an internship at a creative agency i helped with a VA recording session, the lines were machine translated and as we went through the lines i gave alternative suggestions to make the sentences flow better. after the session, the VA (an older man) looked at me and
