fun fact - the SOIC-8 and 0805/0603 TMT breakout boards are the ones I end up consuming the fastest! @aisler.net always provides a quick refill, and gives you €10 off multiple orders with the code NNNI26!

I've made something similar before, but this time I'm getting a custom inner and outer shield made thanks @aisler.net (NNNI26 for €10 off till the end of this year, plus coupon works across multiple orders!)

this unusual experiment from @aisler.net is yet another PCB capacitor - the outer layers form the driven plate which shields the inner plate formed by the inner layers from interference! (NNNI26 for €10 off similar sketchy experiments!)

@aisler.net actually managed these super thin guard traces! I used KiCAD's solder mask expansion to create them! (NNNI26 for €10 off this year on all Aisler orders!)

first project is a dielectric tester designed by a friend! the idea here is to sandwich a dielectric between the exposed copper plates with a fixed distance between them, and measure using an LCR meter at various frequencies! thanks @aisler.net

Maker Faire Hannover 2026 Post 3: The number of people who walked by mumbling "Messtechnik..." (instrumentation) and "Hochfrequenz..." (RF) was rather large 💔

Maker Faire Hannover Post 2: @dmytroengineering.com helped me unbrick an MSO-X 3034A! NAND flash corruption is a known issue and repairs are well-documented, but we came up with a method that uses ethernet to load the flash, plus this gives us an opportunity to bypass future NAND degradation!

Maker Faire Hannover 2026 Post 1: I had a blast displaying my projects! However, it was interesting and slightly disappointing to note that the majority of visitors to my stand were old men who had done analog in the yesteryears, very few young people

The cookie-to-business-card ratio at Maker Faire Hannover was perfect. Lovely to meet so many of you at the HCC. Waves to @blinkyparts.bsky.social, @nnnilabs.net, unsurv, Freie Maker, and the Infineon folks. #MakerFaireHannover #MFH26 #electronics #PCB #maker

this is actually such a nice prototyping method

The current progress on the RC car project: Transmitter has two working oscillators and working summing amp. I used 2xAA batteries as a 0V reference (buffered) to create a +-3V for it. The 555 oscillators are 6V-0V. Then ac-coupled. Modeled it first in LTSpice, this is working out quite well.

so not labelling the parts was a mistake, and making a test board as dense as the final product is always a mistake, so I added more test points! (boards from @aisler.net, NNNI26 for €10 off year-round, multiple times!)

it's been a few years since I ordered something halfway complicated, but thanks to @aisler.net's rapid registration stencil, it should be easy (NNNI26 for €10 off throughout the year! 😎)

always remember to order a stencil with your PCBs! I tried smearing paste on the board here, but the results were blobby 🤰 (if you get your PCBs from @aisler.net, use NNNI26 for €10 off year-round! 😳)

one of the best moves I've made in the recent past is blocking the uni's "AI center" nonsense, I don't need that slop in my uni inbox every day, please crash and burn

hello followers, I would like to announce my exhibition at the Maker Faire Hannover 2026 this year in Hannover, Germany! if you can make it, I'd be glad to meet you and bore you with analog thingies

I just realized that my new signal generator has adjustable rise and fall times, so here's a demonstration of I/C = dV/dt using a 10 nF / 1 kΩ highpass filter

the HMC8043 completes my all-LAN all-SCPI setup! to celebrate, I wrote a script that loads a few useful voltage/current configurations without having to fiddle with the front panel controls

I played with the 34410A for the entire day yesterday and scripting for it is so painless here, I measured the RMS noise at different NPLC settings and compared it to what it should "ideally" be (decrease with sqrt of integration time, normalized to lowest NPLC)

I finally got myself a 34410A! I impulse-purchased this because: 1. it has a multislope IV ADC which I've always wanted 2. it has LAN, so the first step towards converting my bench to LAN + SCPI
