We have like 3 or 4 Amazon echoes (older models) we literally never setup—still.in the boxes— and I'm wondering if they can be rooted or cracked in some way to be useful without being tied to the Amazon ecosystem 🤔

Twitch is easy to start streaming on, and it's not terribly difficult to make affiliate and start earning, so it can become a meaningful income source (even if it is not a significant income for many). It has no natural predators right now. There aren't (m)any other places for creators to go 😩

I do plan to (also?) stream on YT and/or stream.place cause I enjoy streaming and want to see if I can have fun with it on different platforms with different communities. Maybe that will bring new opportunities for growth and income! Idk but Twitch unforch feels like increasingly diminishing returns

My point being that a lot of us have likely already been negatively impacted by automatic filtering because we use terms in our channel titles, tags, and profiles that likely exclude us from certain campaigns anyway. AI will exacerbate an existing problem, but I doubt it's creating a new one.

I, personally, use these terms with the explicit expectation that doing so likely excludes my channel from certain advertisers. I want folks in my streams who align with me, and crucially I want folks who don't align to be turned off. That applies to advertisers too.

I don't want these things automated at all, but they BEEN automated. "AI" is just the same shit with more autonomy (yikes) but it's not like human people were assigning advertisers/campaigns to streamers manually—outside of their largest partners, of course. Its always been an algorithm 🤷🏾‍♀️
