My first shipped project - ASTRA - directed by Eliza McNitt and produced by Atlas V has been quite successfull for mixed-reality : 400+ reviews and ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars on the Meta Quest store, not bad for a narrative-driven project! www.meta.com/en-gb/experi... But you know what impress me even more?

Made this in 5mn in Unity with Gaea, Polyhaven, and HDRP fog, can't wait to teach the workflow ^^

In my latest game Staggered, there is an anthracite-textured clone of your player character that walks towards you - slowly, but constantly. Inspired by Carl Jung's "shadow", the choice is yours to either face it or run away from it. #indiedev #artgame #devlog

UE5.6 allowed for crazy updates on metahuman body customizations but also completely fucked nanite landscapes, not sure if that was a net positive on the production of my upcoming animation short

The future I'd like to see for AI is locally-run web apps. I'm not saying that is what's gonna happen (people are dumb and capitalism suck so things my get pushed in the wrong direction, like when headphone jacks disappeared), but that's the future I wish for nevertheless. Here's why ⏬🧵

This is not a random intuition from an NFT-adjacent bro, I'm a senior full stack developer who had an amazing experience running tfjs+mediapipe in-browser years ago on a potato computer.

So yeah let this thread have a glorious 1-2 likes from my most loyal followers, I just don't wanna make the same mistake I made of predicting the hegemony of AI art in the 2020 decade back in 2018 and have no written trace of it!

This is a gross oversimplification but you get the gist. Amazingly enough, a relatively simple layers of modern web APIs (mainly WebGPU for inference and IndexedDB for models cache) can potentially solve all of the issues above, and that's already the case with Tensorflow and Transformers.

However, on all of the recent models I tried to run on my machine, I could successfully run the "hello world" of only 5-10% of them, and that's including 2-3h of trying to fix stuff for each.

- devs use linux but consumers use windows - a program that might work on one gpu api often doesn't work on others (cuda vs cudnn vs hip vs opencl vs vulkan vs metal vs opengl vs directx vs...) - python is not a real programming language

As a cybersecurity graduate, I'm obliged to mention the obvious security risk of running untrusted random code on the same machine people store their password and personal files, but strangely enough that's not even the main issue.
