Still, new users keep coming in slowly. Up to 68 total users, +8 this week without marketing. People are discovering the product organically, which blows my mind.

Funny enough, the limited Google Sheets scope turned out better than the more “powerful” wide scope. Wide scope = you can query any sheet… but you can’t list a user’s available sheets without another scope + a CASA audit (time + $$). Not great for UX.

With the limited scope, I added the Google Picker Now users can: • Connect their Google account • Pick exactly which files they want to expose • Use them straight in their EasyAnalytica dashboards Way better and users stay fully in control.

I am an idiot. I spent a week thinking EasyAnalytica got zero new users. Kept refreshing my DB… nothing changed. Assumed the hype was dead. Today I accidentally clicked “next page.” Turns out I was only looking at page 1 the whole time. 😭

Current numbers for EasyAnalytica.com • 60 total users • 2 active users but that’s because I changed “active” to returning users who create/update dashboards.

Dev update: Google Sheets integration was supposed to be smooth… until I found out I’d need a Google audit to make it seamless. That audit = weeks of delay. So I built a workaround using non-sensitive scopes. Requires more setup from users, but at least it ships this week.

I’m also polishing the UI. It needs it. Which means marketing takes a back seat for a few days. The good part is making big adjustments is easier while the user base is small.

So yes, new users were coming in. I just wasn’t seeing them. Founder analytics = 10/10 professionalism. Anyway.

Took a detour this week and built a tool for prompting. I was tired of copy/pasting rules + context across prompts. Even with notes, it was too much friction. Made a tool that cuts that down massively. If anyone wants it, I can make it public.

User growth slowed this week for EasyAnalytica.com . Not surprising but still painful. My new activation metric, returning users, is currently at zero. Nothing like a metric punching you in the face to make you question your entire product and marketing strategy. #buildinpublic

This week’s goal is to finally ship billing. But something tells me I will miss the Black Friday window...and then spend days thinking about how I missed it.

Development was not great either. I planned to ship private Google Sheets integration and billing. Shipped neither. The shame is real.

To make things worse, I saw another product showcasing a side-by-side CSV comparison feature. I immediately thought, "I need this too." Turns out I already built it months ago. You just duplicate a table in EasyAnalytica and adjust it. I guess I am accidentally forgetting my own features now.

Shipped grouping by dates for Google Search Console data. Now I can proudly say EasyAnalytica makes cleaner dashboards than GSC by removing weekend noise. Take that, Google.

Maybe the real activation metric should be: create a second dashboard. If they do that, I will personally send them a digital hug.

My weekly update is late, otherwise it would have been 20. Timing is everything in SaaS, including pretending your numbers look better.

Marketing strategy: look for Reddit posts like "what are you building, I will go first" and quietly drop my link. I am too cowardly to post my own. Respect to the heroes who do the lord's work so we can piggyback.

Got my first 10 users! I’ve been marketing easyanalytica.com on Reddit, X, and LinkedIn, and almost all my users have come from Reddit. Neither LinkedIn nor X worked for me, so I’ve decided not to focus on them for now. #buildinpublic

I’m also trying to control my urge to build another tool just to attract users to my main one, since some tool on X said that “content is dead, it’s all about free tools!”

I also managed to find multiple competitors by accidentally pitching my product to them, which was kind of funny, I almost thought I’d finally found my ICP and that this person really got my vision… only to realize it was their vision 😀

I also nearly had a panic attack while recording a demo on how to build a GSC dashboard inside Easyanalytica to compare two sites (this is not possible in GSC). It detected different data types for the same CSV files from two different sites but it’s all good now 😅
