Feels like a scam 🧐 AI is still “hallucinating” It is just getting better at covering it up

404 Media@404media.co

Alpha School, an “AI-powered private school” that heavily relies on AI to teach students and can cost up to $65,000 a year, is AI-generating faulty lesson plans that internal documentation finds. @evystadium.bsky.social has more. Trump cuts requirements for security at the #nuclear reactors, loosen protections for groundwater and environment, cuts back keeping records, raises amount of radiation a worker can be exposed to before an official accident investigation is triggered. www.npr.org/2026/01/28/n...

npr.orgThe Trump administration has secretly rewritten nuclear safety rulesThe rewrite was done to speed up the construction of a new generation of nuclear reactors. Critics warn it could compromise safety and public trust.

What if it clicks “I am not a robot”?

Tech Policy Press@techpolicypress.bsky.social

Who consents when an AI agent clicks? Who steers the choice? Who is accountable when things go wrong? And can European rules discipline AI agents without smothering innovation? AI agents are neither a new contracting party nor the new yardstick for the “average consumer," writes Camillia Rida.

81 years ago, FDR proposed a second Bill of Rights to guarantee every American the right to employment, healthcare, education, housing, and a living income. His words are as relevant now as they were then. Watch.

When the world stops trusting your money, the fall comes fast. • Massive debt & reckless spending are shaking investor confidence • Foreign banks are quietly moving away from the dollar • Countries are trading in other currencies—dedollarization is real The US dollar’s dominance isn’t guaranteed.

Perhaps his focus is all the same- tearing down everything- Food security Government functions Health systems Information systems Voting systems Legal systems Even the White House itself

Robert Reich@rbreich.bsky.social

SNAP benefits are about to expire for millions. Health insurance costs are about to skyrocket for millions. Food prices are rising. The government has been shut down for 25 days. What is Trump focused on? Tearing down a section of the White House to make way for a billionaire-funded ballroom.

I haven’t seen anyone talk about how Jane Doe - an Epstein survivor - just sued the Bank of New York Mellon for funding Epstein and failing to file a Suspicious Activity Report. A Mellon heir is the one who gave $130M to pay the troops. Seems bribey to me.

I hope people step up to defend the constitution and civil rights for all of us. It feels like the Democrats in Congress overall have been silent.

Robert Reich@rbreich.bsky.social

America's Sleeping Giant roared when police attacked civil rights marchers. And after tens of thousands of young Americans were killed in Vietnam. And when Nixon tried to cover up Watergate. Today it roars once more — at the tyrant in the Oval Office.

This was the goal all along

Larry Ellison envisions a surveillance state in which techbros rule. '“Citizens will be on their best behavior, because we’re constantly recording and reporting everything that is going on,” Ellison said in an hour-long Q&A during Oracle’s Financial Analyst Meeting last week.'

I am concerned about AI agents and liability overall. What if AI agents take actions that cause harm? Who is liable?

Magdalena Skipper@magdalenaskipper.bsky.social

“AI agents can be coaxed into revealing sensitive data they have access to or tricked by hackers into taking harmful actions—from extracting sensitive code to creating havoc in homes by activating smart appliances.” Happily, it’s not too late says @meredithmeredith.bsky.social @economist.com 🧪

Do Fox News hosts and commentators agree with their colleague Brian Kilmeade that the United States should "just kill" homeless people? He still has a job. No apology. No retraction. Just let us know, Fox.

Northern Ireland man from Lisburn kidnapped by Trump’s Ice raids because he “looked like a Mexican”. He had the correct visa, all his documents. He’s never been in trouble with police. Held in terrible conditions. A fellow captive couldn’t get his medication and dropped dead of a heart attack

Horrors of Trump detention centre: Lisburn man tells his story after arrest for 'looking like a Mexican' Lee Stinton was lifted by US immigration police on an American street — in an incident he compared to a kidnapping. Here, he tells us his story.

The President of the United States just essentially declared a war on Chicago because — wait for it! — Black and Brown people live here. This is not normal. This is not okay. And we are going to fucking fight back.
