Accountability is a bedrock of realistic trauma recovery-- not least because it differentiates survivors from our abusers & bullies. But many of us have been conditioned to believe "accountability" is self-shame & punishment-- both of which undermine ACTUAL accountability.

CPTSD survivors aren't getting f*cked up about things in the past. We're responding to things happening in our body, our nervous & endocrine systems, today. Telling a survivor to "let it go" misses the point of what's actually, physically happening, here, now.
